Hi everyone,
Continuing my "intro" tour and sharing some of the sets that started it all for me. This one has a great story behind it.
Back in the mid-2000s (around 2006, right in the thick of the poker boom), my dad won a local poker tournament at our neighborhood sports bar. His grand prize? This 500-piece Jack Daniel’s branded set.
The Specs:
- Chip Type: Classic "Striped Dice" 11.5g (non-denominated).
- Breakdown: 250 Black, 150 Red, 100 Blue.
- Extras: Branded JD playing cards and a carrying case.
He passed this set down to me in 2012 after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. While I know these aren't high-end Paulsons or custom ceramics, the sentimental value is off the charts for me. It’s a snapshot of that 2006 poker craze and a great memory of my dad’s tournament win.
Any other "Boom Era" retail sets out there that you guys have kept for sentimental reasons?
