[...] a recessed box area, or molded/carved chip holders in the rail area?

After viewing this thread and looking at some excellent builds, I’m curious…
What is the preferred table design as it relates to chips; i.e. flat padding to the rail (where players just stack their chips in front), a recessed box area, or molded/carved chip holders in the rail area?

I’d be interested in the feedback on what people prefer.
Without question, flat padding to the rail. Some will add a racetrack, but unless that racetrack is exactly level with the felt, you will have a bump that makes it impossible to push a tower of chips forward.

Lost of good examples of molded/carved "chip holders" in the rail... all of them in the Fugly table thread.

Yep.. I get the idea that the design of a casino type of table (with a lower flat surface to the rail) is the way to go.

Looks like the chip rail designs are contenders for the fugly table thread you listed above. I took a look but most photos are no longer viewable.

Perfect!

Just upgraded one of my tables with a shuffle tech. I have a 3 table game coming up and it was very nerve racking cutting a hole in one of the tables, since I only have 3. Worked out well though. Hopefully I will like the shuffle tech as much as I hope to.

This customer wanted very high end cameras for their table. We offered to include the cameras, but they decided to rent them instead to save some money. We received 1 camera for fitment and they are renting the rest for a few days to use for the televised event. So I can do either. At $1,000 per camera, I don't blame them.

8 man. 72" by 48". Can fit 10 squished in.

I bought some Roll Out Mats and use it for roulette and craps. just waiting on the backboard carpet to arrive to jimmy something up for the dice.

hey Mister, I have to say you inspired me by your photos. I also bought two Roll Out Mats (Blackjack & Craps). I wanted to ask you how did you make the cut to the Mat, it seems you did a pretty good job! Congrats

My wife helped. I put it over the table, drew a line in sharpie and then cut just inside it. Like I said my wife helped so it was a cleaner cut than what I would of done.

Mad props. It looks way better than that Habs logo. :wtf:

Checked in a couple of weeks ago, and just found this thread so I thought I might as well chip in :)

Did my first build a year and a half ago. Still happy with the result, but I'm already looking to build one with a custom felt. Even more so now there's a custom ceramic set from BRpro on the way..

It's hard to see, but the table has USB power pucks every couple of seats mounted underneath as well!

Plus the LEDs are behind a stainless steel "suited" strip....color changes with a remote!
