Here is what I am currently working on. I just need a rack of Empress Primary $100’s and I am ready...
One rack each of
T5-25-100-500
For tourney we get t4000=200 BB.
Starting stacks of:
10-10-7-6
Blinds start at 10/20 instead of 5/10 so we avoid the 100% increase at level two. Also gives us the option of “deepstack” 400 big blinds by starting at the afore mentioned 5/10. Color ups are easy: 5X100 and 5X500
5 rebuys:
5X100=25 chips and 7X500=35 chips
This equals exactly 100 of each chip.
We will rarely get to the point of needing T2k chips or even T1k.

Regarding the micro cash setup.

Up to 10 players is easy with a bank of $630.
First five players get a barrel of 5-25-100 for $26 buyin. For sticklers.. steal back a 100 chip from each player to make it an even $25 Rebuys for extra players are simply 5X $5 for $25. Get change at the table. You can move this around easily so I think a barrel each of the fracs is plenty. Often you will be using the quarters and not the nickels anyway.

Cleary, you can be much more efficient by getting a barrel of $20’s to act as T2K or $20 chips. That adds an additional $300 bank and adds a few more rebuys as well.

Now somebody sell me a rack of Empress Primary $100’s!!!!!

Cheers,
Joe

P.S. hopefully some people add to this thread to share insight. Many people on PCF have poo-pooed T5’s. I think they are great as they allow for starting stacks of 10-10-X rather than 8-8-X or 12-12-X..... What can I say, I like complete racks.

I have no issues with a T5 structure at all. It works quite well although I still prefer the T25 personally. All your counts sounds pretty on point for me also. You can actually replicate the same idea with a 25¢/$1/$5/$25/$100 cash set that can also be used for a T25 tournament structure.

You'll hear many comments about not using the same set for both cash and tourney but assuming you're playing among good friends and have a good chip management, I don't see any issues with it myself, specially at micro stakes.

Thanks for the feedback.
I considered doing the above set as you mentioned with substituting $20’s for $25’s.
I have run a small tourney with my Crystal Park set (relabeled quarters) just as you described and it was fine.
None of my players are degenerates so any structure/stack works fine for them.
All I need now is more players so I can justify expanding the set to two tables!
That justifies the T2k/$20 barrels and solidifies a “2 rack each” cash set.
