I have been hosting a T25 2-Table @ $10k once per quarter for the past 18 months. Once my new custom chips come, I will be shifting to a T100 BBA tournament structure. Below is the structure that I am planning on implementing. From those who have run BBA tournaments in the past, can you please let me know what problems or pitfalls that I would be exposing myself to running this structure? The 2 tables are dealt by seasoned players, so they can implement the BBA pretty easily, and I do not imagine it will take very long for my players to catch on.

Add-ons - 6

Desired Length - 4-5 hours
Blind levels - 20-24 mins

Expected finish @ level 12?

Additional questions for discussion:
1. Could I run this even deeper, with 50k starting stacks? Or is 200-250 BBs too many?
2. Is having the BBA be the same as the SB as opposed to the BB atypical?
3. Will there be too many chips on the table in levels 6-8 if we are down to one table by then? Before the 500 color up?
3a. Should we also color up half the 1000s at the 2nd break, to decrease the number of chips on the table? Taking half would lead to roughly 100 x T1,000s, is that enough to still service the blinds for likely a 6-8 handed game at that point?

1. Personally, 200bb would be the max for me. I like even small, 125bb starting stacks.
2. Yes, very atypical for not having the big blind ante not be equal the big blind.

I would run with a BBA from level one. I don't get not having an ante for the first few levels.........couple this with gigantic 400bb+ starting stacks is just pointless in tournament poker.

Having 200/500 and not 200/400 when the chip denominations allow is also highly atypical. I like something like this:

100/200
200/300
200/400
300/600
400/800
600/1200
1000/1500
Color up 100 and 500
1000/2000
2000/3000
2000/4000
3000/6000
4000/8000
Color up1000
5000/1000
etc

My main reason for going 200/500 instead of 200/400 was to keep the same 50%-67% increase along the blinds. Also, we like 20ish minute levels, so I tried to eliminate a couple along the way to keep it around 4-4.5 hours.

I think we will institute a BBA from level 1, but may keep the blind progression. That way, your effective stack doesn't feel like 200BB deep, with the ante in play.

How about something like this in the first few levels?

L0 - 100/200/200
L1 - 200/400/400
L2 - 300/600/600
L3 - 400/800/800
Break
L4 - 500/1000/1000
Then onward with my scale...

This follows the 2-3-5-8-12 pattern, which keeps all jumps between 50-67%. I chose to have >50% small blinds for levels 2 and 3 to keep the increases in this range.

100/200/200
200/300/300 (60%)
300/500/500 (63%)
400/800/800 (67%)

2.5K/5K/5K (67%)
4K/8K/8K (60%)
6K/12K/12K (50%)
Break - Color Up T500s and T1Ks
10K/20K/20K
15K/30K/30K (Should end about this level)
25K/50K/50K (Should definitely end by this level)
40K/80K/80K
60K/120K/120K
