The fact is, this takes time and needs to be accurate. I know I will get faster at this as I keep hosting.

Going forward I will just put the bank cigar boxes and re-buy chips right next to my seat.

And then letting everyone know that exact change will speed up the process.

I keep all of the tourney cash in my pocket, and the re-buy stacks in a rack near the dealer. Busted players hand me the cash & re-buy chip, I make change if needed and instruct the dealer to pass out the re-buy stack.

No cash boxes necessary, and nothing for the cops to find or confiscate if they happen to show up. "Officer, you can plainly see that these are clearly marked no-value tournament chips, and we are playing for fun!" True story.

Stacks are ready to go, and two of us can give the chips, as for the money we just mark it on our roster and collect at the break.
