Hi folks - I am looking for a STT set (T25 or T100). I would prefer clay chips with nice edge spot patterns. Please pm me what you have! Thank you and have a great long weekend :)

How big is starting stack? Any rebuys or addons? What is your budget? There's a lot of good choices for clay tournament chips around here. Good luck

Budget is pretty important here.

Here’s an example of what a well priced uniformly themed set looks like and what it costs.

Sets that cost less will be some combination of the following: not clay, not Paulson but RHC, solid colors with no spots, or mixed.

You can also buy some Diamond Jacks cash denoms and make your own set that way.

T25 or T100 w/ 200BB starting sack with 2 rebuys. Budge is 1k but flexible :)

I feel like this is a little misleading. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, so apologies if I am, but I think these examples are way up at the higher end, and not what I would call "well priced." Fair for a higher end set probably, but you can absolutely put together a set with nice edge spots for around $1000. It may just take some time, and you won't get higher end spotted THC chips.

One option is used CPC sets. These will often come on the market for quite a bit less than their original cost. Sometimes for as little as $1-2 per chip. Also older ASM chips can be found. Sometimes relabing might be required to get to the denoms that you want.

I wanted a set of colorful chips, wanted them to be Paulson clay in excellent to near mint condition, and wanted cool edge spots. I also didn't want to do any relabeling and wanted actual casino chips. One major compromise is that I chose to go with a T5 base chip. This is because above $500, real Paulson casino chips can get very expensive, and most are larger than 39mm.

I also chose to go with a theme rather than all from the same casino. I wanted all the chips to have "V" and/or "W" edge spots. This is what I've ended up with. And having multiple $100 designs was an intentional choice. I could have gotten all one chip for the same cost, but I purchased some of each and couldn't decide which one I liked best, so I included them all! I'm a little over $900 all-in for this small STT, no-rebuy set. Adding a few more barrels for rebuys would probably run $200-300.

No I think we’re on the same page actually. I’ve only been around for 2 years so my only sense of canned tournament RHC sets is Jack Cinci and Jack Detroit which are both solids. There are China Clays and BRPro sets like Super Mario World. The THC sets AS, ESPT, ESST, and TP would certainly not be entry level in terms of price. I hadn’t considered used CPC sets.

Mixed sets are very flexible but can be a tough place to start chipping.

Nice mixed set! Yes CPC is definitely a good choice as well :)

That roughly equates to a 400-chip set:

T25-base, 10k stacks (12/12/5/6), 25/50 blinds
120 x T25
120 x T100
50 x T500
75 x T1000
40 x T5000
----------
405 chips

T100-base, 20k stacks (10/8/10/1), 100/200 blinds
100 x T100
80 x T500
100 x T1000
100 x T5000
‐----------
380 chips
