My grandparents played poker with me as a kid and I miss the compressed clay chips they used. I host a game and provide classic cocktails and tiki drinks. (They also built a free-standing tiki bar on their property in the 60s.) I'd love to get clay chips again for my home game.

I am also looking for design services and production referral for custom chips on a larger project. I am working on starting a crypto-focused, private member club with food, drinks and services paid in crypto. in addition to crypto, the club will allow members to convert crypto to custom chips which can be used to play games and pay for food, drink and club services.

Looking forward to learning from and connecting with this community!

Hello and welcome!

Maybe you want to talk to @Anthony Martino for opinions on operational logistics.

The problem I see with a crypto-focused club is that you're limiting yourself to a niche of players (typically ones who are more intelligent/savvy than the fun, local, drunk recreational players you need to sustain your poker ecosystem)

Coin Poker and Phenom poker both utilize crypto in their online sites and both struggle to get many players.

thanks for the insight!

How many tables were you planning for your room?
initially, one poker table, one blackjack table and a roulette table. I'd like to add a craps table later.

currently I run a hold 'em game with 1 - 3 tables depending on how many sign up. the blackjack table converts to a poker table, so I will flex with demand.

I know I've heard about player-banked games possibly being a loophole in the laws in Texas to run casino-style games outside of poker. But I'd be very careful you aren't putting yourself in harms way.

This is how the Native American casinos do it. They take an “ante” from each hand and it goes into the “player pool” to pay winners.

The issue is the gambling laws in TX don't permit a game runner to profit from running the games (thus seat rental fees)

And it's open to intepretation that can vary by county.

Some areas are more friendly than others.

I don't know enough about the games outside of poker to advise, but very few places are risking messing with that stuff

Will the “Official” crypto currency of poker chip collecting (Scrub Donkey) aka SDONK be accepted? If so I will be greatly excited.
