Apologies if this should go somewhere else -

I have been collecting a lot of various chips in the last few weeks and something feels off today w/ these secondary Jack Cincinnati $25s.

I noticed it first when they simply would not shuffle. I got out some of my primary Jack Cincinnati $25s and they were fine. Also shuffled the Fan of Cards $0.25s and the CDI 98 $100s without any issue. But these newly acquired Jack Cincinnati secondaries won't budge. They stick together and feel almost sand-papery when running a finger along the surface.

For context, I'm new here, so I know this may just mean they haven't been circulated or something, but I wanted to ask for your help on this to make sure I'm not getting ripped off.

Should I be concerned about these?

They look fine to me. These were acquired from a Chip Room sale, so they are straight up factory-mint and likely caked in chalky factory dust. Give them a nice wipe-down with a damp cloth or even a full clean/scrub by the barrel with a magic eraser (and then maybe the lightest oiling ever although not necessary), and then after a few shuffles they should be better. You're also comparing to large inlay (left) chips that tend to shuffle smoother and THC (right) chips that are just typically better in terms of feel.

It’s because they’re brand new sharp-edged chips. If you grab a stack and force yourself to shuffle them, they become noticeably easier to shuffle in well under 100 shuffles.
I wouldn’t mess with the oil, but that’s a controversial topic.

Thank you. It's refreshing to be on a forum where people don't jump down your throat for asking questions. Cheers!
They normally do!!! You’re running hot!

Those chips look right and realistically wouldn’t be something someone would forge. Shuffle away and report back. Is it 100 shuffles? 200 shuffles?

Oh, just wait till you've come with the right questions :p

I'm guessing they're 100% legit, just minty.

For the time and effort it would take to create a passable Paul-son and not some cheapo knockoff (i.e., plastic, china "clay," etc) you could just ramp up your own chip company.
