FU butler...........who does the fucking hotstamps

those above are ed/emptypocs. not sure who did his. collin/monkeydog does good work, though.

EDIT: looks like they were stamped by jsmithjr, an inactive CTer. original thread here.

hotstamp formatting and font ideas courtesy of some of the options John worked up for me when i was putting my clermont hotstamps together.

that top right would work really well in the larger stampable area on these hourglass chips.

Does anyone have any leads on anyone who does do hot stamping anymore? Seems like everyone who did it disappeared

If I knew someone who could make me a custom die, then I'd be interested. I saw the dies lars had made for a future project and I got excited again about the possibility. I think the big problem is availability of chips that take stamps well. I think I heard somewhere that stamping CPC blanks is challenging.

Is it a difficult thing to do?

That's part of the rub. I have no idea.

My understanding was stamping CPC chips required you to do it fairly shortly after they are produced. As time goes by they harden and do not accept the ink. I think

I've always been curious. If someone found blank TRKs do they take ink well after aging?

I've also read that TRK old stock do not stamp well at all. One of the big stampers I think tried and stopped as results were not acceptable. It really is a bummer for all us chippers that came after...

Double sad. With CPC at least you can get new chips produced if you can find a hot stamper.

Hi guys sincères it's hotstamp talk is asm still hotstamping ?

Does anyone have any leads on anyone who does do hot stamping anymore? Seems like everyone who did it disappeared

group buy on a stampin machine???

Is it a difficult thing to do?

see this thread where this subject was discussed. cliff's: Collin/monkeydog still does stamping, though he does tend to take some time. he is still my go-to guy and i anticipate doing another set with him at some point.

Top right FTW Jack :)

top right was my second choice of those six. i ended up combining the bottom left and right designs for the final stamp.

as i should always note when i brag on these, thanks to J5 and Collin. they came out even better than i hoped. in case you haven't seen the result (final mock-up; stamped unoiled; oiled set):

Jack, I desperately want these as a guest set at the Post at some future point. May not be remotely possible...I wouldn't want to travel with chips. But The Clermont was an inspired choice for an Atlanta tie in set.

very nice of you to say, Tom. the travel required might end up being one way as a move back to ATL within the next couple years is not entirely out of the question...
