Second cash set- Mets inspired (1 Viewer)

The simpler label was best, I'll relay your suggestion to Steve though and see what magic he can work. I'm trying to incorporate a green chip but feel like it doesn't flow in the overall set.

Yeah I'd tend to agree with that. Considering it's based on a jersey they only wear on st patty's day, maybe you can do something similar with the chip - either make a special denomination like a $10 chip or make it a secondary $20. Something not part of the base set but that could be brought out on special occasions.

Precisely. It doesn't have to be a regular use chip. Just a collector/special occasion chip. Don't need to get any more made than a barrel plus samples/extras.

Exactly what I was thinking too. Make it more of a commemorative chip.

another mock-up, with or without the pin-stripes?

w/ pinstripes - i think it adds a nice touch. as tough as it can be to use repeating colors in a set i think this set is going it very well.

Really liked the first inlay by Steve. The new ones aren't as nice IMO.

I liked the first one too, but the outer ring wouldn't have printed well, as per David's instructions.

Technically, yes.... but given the nature of the tri-color 1/4-pie coloring, it stands out more as a tri-color chip than a blue chip, and shouldn't ever get confused for a 25c denom. Blue w/peach-white definitely works better in this regard than does either peach w/blue-white or white w/blue-peach (I tried all three).

Might be worth a shout to David to see if they can make it a four-color chip with blue/white/peach/gray or blue/white/peach/black, but that would probably be a level 27 chip if it can be done at all.

Here's a few other versions that take away a bit more of the blue, but I think they are all a little busy -- but maybe one will strike your fancy:

#3 is probably best of those above, but I prefer the simpler version in my previous post (below). I think it fits in very well with the rest of the line-up.

Some of those 1/4 pies are awesome, but a bit busy for my tastes. How they look with the final inlays. Maybe make the charcoal 3TA316 as a $20?

l'm a huge fan of charcoal chips, but I'd be concerned with the lack of contrast with the blue spot. Maybe move it to the center slot?

And yeah, would make a great $20 with the other three chips. No hundo? Oh wait, you have Matsui plaques! ;)

This one. Do this one.
I agree. Maybe try putting the blue spot, on the hundo, in the middle position so its surrounded by light spots and isn't competing with the charcoal base as much. Looks solid overall! Nice work

Or just use gray instead.

Looks like I'll have to be the voice of dissent, I liked the top mock-up in post #76 better for one reason - the set compliments that awesome quarter pie better.

The D spot progression from the quarter to the fiver works really well given the limited colors in the set (and is an awesome spot pattern in general), however IMHO the quarter pie pattern doesn't match the rest of that group, at all. Plus you have the issue of 2 main chips with the same base color (though the spots from the quarter are different enough where I don't think you'll have issues with chips getting confused). If you're really looking to keep that quarter pie in there (IIRC you mentioned that was your untouchable chip), I think going with the more varied edge spots would be the better way to go, something similar to that top mock-up. If you continue with the D spot progression, I'd chuck the quarter pie and progress to the next complex D spot (but please don't because the quarter pie is the best chip in group! ;) )

Different strokes for different folks of course, but that's my 2¢ worth.

I know what you mean, I've been mocking them up from both sets because some chips from each set lol. I'll probably have a final conclusion tomorrow.

I like a lot of the chips you have mocked up, just not sure if the most recent version really encompasses the best of the best. IMO maybe a tiny bit too much blue.

Since blue and orange are the workhorse colors of the Mets, I personally think that those should be the workhorse colors of the set. Im gonna take a stab and post my thoughts momentarily

2 different options for 25c and 2 differnet options for $20. my brain cant comprehend a way to properly incorporate a $100 without it clashing too hard with lineup i proposed

This made me chuckle - I've had my "final" decision on the colors for custom chips about a thousand times... until I changed it again. :D

After looking at the pic that TriHonda posted I feel like DG Peacock matches the Mets blue better than the standard blue.

And that's why it's always good to have samples in your hands. After getting the DG Peacock sample in the mail and matching it to the jersey's blue, they did not match. I love the Samurai quarter and Flamingo dollar, so I tried doing something in that regard. Thoughts?

Really liking all except the charcoal against blue on the white chip. Grey would probably have more contrast, does grey fit though?

agree 100%, like everything except the $20, specificaully the charcoal blue mix, maybe put orange in the middle and it will contrast better
