Say Something Nice GIVEAWAY - Results (1 Viewer)

@Esection for hosting games in NYC and being an amazing host. Not just for poker, he once stayed up till 3am playing MTG whilst his wife was out of town, even though he had work the next day. He is a super nice guy, knows how to have a laugh, would drink with this man any day of the week. <honorable mention as he nominated me>

@gopherblue that dude knows more about chips than anyone i have met. He LOOOOOOVES a good story and I love hearing them. He has a cute kid to boot.

@rjdev7 the first chipper I ever met. Turns out he is a nice guy who loves PNYs and the occasional ceramic set. He has always been welcoming and hosts a mean game in NYC. He also gave me a hand made rack as a gift!

I nominate Jeff. He’s a great dude and made me feel welcome. Thanks Jeff.

:D

Seriously though I nominate @Jeff. He has opened his home to me more times than I can count. He was one of the members that is always the first to volunteer to help out at games I've hosted and at meetups. He also is lightening fast modding stuff so I don't have too and is very diplomatic in his responses.

Another nomination is @SetMiningKings. He went out of his way to attend PnBBC and was a regular in my home game up north for years. One of the nicest guys you will meet as evidence by something he just did this weekend. I responded to a Chicago game invite that I couldn't make and said how much I'd love to play that rotation. He responded with basically this weekend is already too short of notice, but let's find a weekend and I'll fly you up to play a weekend. I though he was kidding.....Nope, a 100% genuine offer. Wow! I just booked my flight today for a game in January and can't be more excited.

Ok folks.. we've stalled out some. Time to kick those nominations into high gear. We have a couple months before drawing time! Once we get closer to the MTTD, I’ll select a “deadline” and once that hits, we will roll the dice and see who wins. I’ll assign numbers to each entry and maybe roll some dungeons and dragons dice (on camera) to select our winner...

I nominate @DerberAlter for not only having a fun nickname (if you understand german). He was very welcoming to me in this forum and made me feel right at home. Also he took some of my samples off me, thus helping make my move to a new apartment a few grams easier ;)

Also he shared that nice Nanuk case offer not only with me but with everyone here. I think we'll see some more nanuk pr0n here because of him.

Thank you! But to be correct, I just reshared the nanuk offer

I nominate @yone and @Irish ... Although a bunch a people made joining this forum a very pleasant experience, I think these two went above and beyond. I do wish I could nominate more folks. Great forum; great people.

EDIT: Reread the rules--need to add a couple more sentences.

In the case of @yone, he read a post of mine and took the time to send me a PM about it. He offered up his own time to assist me with something without expectation of a quid pro quo. His careful feedback was also appreciated in a thread of mine.

In the case of @Irish, he responded quickly to a PM I had, and provided thoughtful feedback. He participated in a thread of mine; again with thoughtful feedback. He also shared a personal picture of his son. Given that me and my son just started playing, it really put a smile on my face.

I already made two nominations, but I would like to nominate @LinkyBabe. Didn't have to, but helped me located my labels coming from @Gear. Answered questions and chased things down for me. Perfect example of the good in this community.

I'd nominate:

@Beakertwang Having just started playing the PCF P* games, he has been welcoming, gracious and also very patient sticking around to the end of the game to make sure of pay-out. Not to mention friendly. He seems to be always available to set up a game. Big shout-out to the other tourney directors too!

@BGinGA Although cantankerous at times, I have to respect the time and effort he puts into chip breakdown advice and blind schedules. You never see him say "just search". He always answers people with specific advice tailored to their needs. He's helped me a lot with my chip breakdowns and I've learned a lot from his advice.

And only once was I culturally insensitive. :D

I have to people to nominate for very similiar reasons. I have to sets thanks to these guys. Without them i wouldnt. First up is @Ethan he drove way out of his way to pick up package and ship a brandnew member (me) a 1000pc chipset asking nothing in return but a sample set and made clear wasnt mandatory.

The second is @Kensco. He designed and gave me a family keepsake in the cheewoop chips i just had made with th 8v supersale. He listened to a family story and inside joke and came up with a design everyone was stoked to see. In return he asked for absolutely nothing. I hope to get him something from this at least. He touched my whole family

Great thread.

I’ll nominate @krafticus and @Highli99.

@krafticus invited me to a game where I was able to play with mint Paulsons for the first time. He was an accommodating host, and even let me know when the cash game was starting (monthly tournament followed by an impromptu cash game). He also responded to my trade ad for a DB offering one free without any hesitation.

@Highli99 was the first person to welcome me to this forum. He gave me solid advice when I wasn’t sure of whether to purchase some chips that I was unfamiliar with (most chips qualify here - I’m a new chipper). He also responded to my DB trade ad by gifting me an exclusive button - then generously sent 2!

I’m not a beggar - I tried to trade/buy the DBs, but both have graciously declined to accept payment.

I nominate @Ethan for volunteering to be the reshipping station for all North America of my Athenian Owl and Horseshoe dealer button group buy.
He has been extremely kind and helpful. Always a pleasure to chat with. True Texas lives on in the big hearts of gentlemen like him.:)

I nominate @SemiNumerical, the first chipper I met in person. We have had lunch several times, which he has treated. The very first time meeting him, he loaned me his cpc color sample and cpc scrown samples. In NYC, trusting someone you first meet is a risky proposition to say the least. Also, he introduced me to TRKs, which I’m not sure is a gift or a curse. Around the holidays, he charitably donated a set of chips to someone who couldn’t afford a set.

I also nominate @stafil who generously leant a sample set of Abbiati’s to me and even paid for shipping. Recently, he is also donating a set of chips to chippers that don’t have a set of their own. Great guy for the community!
Edit: The sample chips were gifted to me. Touched by the act of kindness all the way from accross the country.

There are many others who make such a positive contribution that I can’t all remember. Thanks guys @Josh Kifer @justsomedude @BGinGA @Poker Zombie @Darson @liftapint @detroitdad - have really enjoyed reading your posts. And thanks to the staff for making this possible.

Thanks man. I've never gotten any props like this before. It's appreciated.

@p5woody for doing such an epic job on all 3 design requests I’ve asked of him and for putting up with my endless tinkering. I’ve always loved my chips, but having custom designs I’m so proud of has taken it to the next level for me and it’s all down to him.

@BGinGA for his recent reshipment help and for his constant knowledge sharing.

Honourable mentions because I can’t just leave it at 2.
@detroitdad just for being Bill. I would list him in the 2 but I’ve given him million shoutouts. I’ve got to mix it up lol.
@ChaosRock for being a super nice dude and doing me such a solid deal on some chips I’m after for my new THC chip murder set. Since he supplied nearly 40% of what will be the entire set, he might be wanted for accessory to murder.
@Rhodeman77 and @Sprouty for allowing me to bounce random design ideas off them.
@desjgn for being such a great vendor and going above and beyond with his customer service. I feel like we should just accept that desjgn are the offical cards of pcf. No other manfacturers need apply thanks.

Ok folks. The MTTD is a week away. It’s time to draw for these prizes. After consulting several poker gurus, it was decided to do a random PLO flip. We had 25 PCF members who nominated 1-2 other members. Should be fun. I videotaped the action.

@Apache - thank you for bringing the latest CCs to market and for all the patience in trying to get the set perfect!

@p5woody for all the awesomeness from 2018. It is not forgotten.

While it’s never a bad thing to say nice things about someone... the official contest is closed.

Apologies to @moose I realized after rewatching the 2nd table video that I never zoomed in on his hand.
