Not like the inlays are gonna remain on most of the ones that are bought here anyways... #SerialMurderNot to mention the black text on the pretty much black inlay on the 5k and 25k. Lol at the inlays, but I agree some nice chips in there for sure!

ANNND, I didn't notice that either, because I've really just been looking at the 5, 25, 100, 500.Not to mention the black text on the pretty much black inlay on the 5k and 25k. Lol at the inlays, but I agree some nice chips in there for sure!

What a strange rack this is, with all the inlay variations.
Well Jim -- I've been retired from the chip buying gig for many years now -- there was something tonight that made me log in and just see how things were going here. 30 pages later and unfortunately (?) a bit of expendable income due to being empty nesters now, I'm actually considering jumping back in. I've even considered asking your permission to hop on a flight and offer to help with the sorting party (not to assume for one second you'd be OK with that) -- but years ago I helped a friend here who does what you do, but on a smaller scale, sort all the Hooters Chips out of Tukwila (I think). It was a couple days of such fun -- didn't ask for a dime in compensation of any sort -- just the joy of it. Honestly, knowing the fever I see in this thread, you could probably CHARGE people to come help. Ha! We'll see if I get a sample set -- I'm such a sucker for oversized chips. Thanks for the making me feel 45 again.![]()
Do we know what the chips are? Been without service for a few days
We do, been discussed in the last 10+ pages here.Do we know what the chips are? Been without service for a few days
I'm fairly new so don't know the "flippers" here but if someone picks up Jim's chips for $1/chip and then a week later lists them for $1.50/ chip can't the veterans or people that hate that just simply stat in the sale thread. "these chips were $1 in the chip room sale how nice of you to go in a different direction and price them for $1.50"Lol at everyone saying if Jim raises prices by 40%, flippers won't exist.
Raising prices by 40% in this sale will just set a new floor for flippers.
It's a fine line. There's no thread crapping. The mod response would likely be if you don't agree with the price don't buy it. My argument would be maybe someone else wasn't aware of the lower sale price. I try to tell people in PMs when I see it. Often times it's too late.I'm fairly new so don't know the "flippers" here but if someone picks up Jim's chips for $1/chip and then a week later lists them for $1.50/ chip can't the veterans or people that hate that just simply stat in the sale thread. Seems like that might derail things a little.

No, that would probably not be allowed per pcf rules, unfortunately.I'm fairly new so don't know the "flippers" here but if someone picks up Jim's chips for $1/chip and then a week later lists them for $1.50/ chip can't the veterans or people that hate that just simply stat in the sale thread. Doing sets is difficult because everyone has different needs.

My point is this. If you had a friend or acquaintance who was planning on buying an item. You felt the item was overpriced and knew of someone selling said item for less or knew of examples of something being sold for less would you tell them and let them make the decision from there? Or would you just let them make the choice uninformed? I know what I would do.Not "unfortunately" IMO. It is a personal sales thread and people have the right to ask for whatever they want without nosey people chiming in with their "smartest person in the world" 5¢.
It boggles my mind people still think they are (not you, Dave) the guardians of the pricing universe. For every person, and i mean EVERY SINGLE PERSON, there is a different perspective on pricing and value. Why do those people think their OPINION is law?!?!?! GTFO... I digress...

That's precisely what I do. I would never expect someone to come and shit on a sale thread but pointing out that the item is available cheaper elsewhere I don't think is an issue. I'm not talking about bad mouthing the seller or even making a big deal about it.Write your friend and share your opinion. Isn't that simple? A sale thread is NOT the place for 306 people chiming in about what is fair or not fair.
But I'm definitely not starting a discussion about this issue.
Gotcha, i understand, good insight. It is a little more complicated then that. What if someone buys 1,000 chips and plans to keep only 100. Of the remaining 900 chips they sell 500 at a loss. To offset that loss they sell their remaining 400 chips at a marked up price to ultimately break even.
Now, if someone comes along and only sees their set of 400 chips for sale at what appears to be a marked up "flippers" price then out come the pitchforks even though on the whole they didn't profit.
I have never bought any chips through one of these sales as I generally pass on RHC chips. I didn't follow the prices or reseller prices of the Jack chips either so I have no clue how those were valuated and resold. I am just pointing out that if you want to be the price police it is a full time job and you are also probably going to be wrong a lot.
I have been around a while. As much as people publicly decry flipping there aren't very many people here that haven't sold chips for more than they paid. Tons of the "I hate flippers"sentiment is marinated in hypocrisy. Not naming names just an observation on the whole.
In other words, flipping is bad when other people do it...
And for the new folks, they'll either reach out and ask for help or get taken for a ride.
Do we really need to go down this road AGAIN?
Yeah, sorry. I agree, i'm pumped about this sale!It really does seem to pop up in every major thread.
Let Jim keep the sales-hype going. This is a nice opportunity for a lot of people.
