Hey gang...I’m a new member and this may not be “proper” but everyone I’ve chatted with in this forum has been so nice...

I’m going to be in San Francisco for a few day at the end of next week and planned on visiting some card rooms and/or casinos...I’d be willing to pick up some chips for anyone interested...only did minor research but there seems to be a few places to hit...

Let me know and I’ll try to work it out with you all...

In the meantime, I have two inquiries:
1) is there much point in offering China clay chips in this forum?
2) if anyone feels like explaining some of these abbreviations that I see so many of, I’d be grateful.

Thanks all!!!

Hi, I believe there is a harvesting thread you can move this to. Any abbreviations people would be happy to help with.

Welcome!!
I am sure some chippers would be interested in harvesting services.
Which casinos do you plan to visit?
If you let us know we can look up the chips they use and see what tickles our fancy.
Cheers,
Joe

Didn’t really put together a plan per se...I was partly looking for suggestions as well...there don’t seem to be TOO many options out there but I’m still gonna try to get around...I saw Avocado Joe’s and figured they might have some interesting chips!

All of them??? Lol...I’ll pour over that glossary that softchewy pointed out for now. That looks like it’ll take care of my curiosity!
What's not in the glossary is OCD or Obssessive Compulsive Disorder, a mental disease shared by most people here, which makes them amass beautiful little round objects / works of art, in increments of 20 (barrels), or even better of 100 (racks) with a relatively low percentage of them round objects getting any use.:)

Object sets and their Pr0n images MUST be made so as to be eligible for OCD certification. There is no centralised certifying authority for this, but the faithful / sufferers enforce the principles of the disease on each other, with great zeal.:)

I used to have this disorder of which you speak for guitars...it never truly leaves a person unfortunately...now it has manifested in poker chips...let the ride begin!

@hoosierdonny, fellow guitar player here. I've spent a lot of time on TGP, but less since joining PCF. What are your favorite guitars you own?

Also, I like China clays, and there's certainly a market for them.

My ‘74 Tele Delixe has always been my baby...MONSTER tone...and I found it at House of Guitars in Rochester NY, sitting case-less in a giant retail case mixed in with about 50 other less-than-appreciated instruments...best musical find of my life...I also own a Martin CEO-8 that is the finest acoustic instrument I’ve ever had in my hands...look that one up if you’re not familiar!

How about you?

My acoustic is an Eastman AC522CE. Love that guitar, and it's rendered many (not all) high-end Martins, Gibsons, Taylors, etc. unappealing.

This is my main electric. Gracie from Maximum Guitar Works out of Golden, CO.
I'm a big fan of Reverend guitars, and I've owned a dozen or so over the years.

Bay 101, Lucky Chances and California Grand are Bud Jones.

M8trix has BCC.

Stones and Graton are about 2-3 hours away and have Paulson chips.

It's a hike from the bay but Casino Real is a poker room in Manteca that has great Paulson chips. I have not been there and can't speak to the quality of the game but it looks ok.

If anyone ever gets out there I could use 2 barrels of the $1s!

Might be listed under CDO, in the order they ~should~ be in.....

@hoosierdonny I was considering playing at Lucky Chances during the day this Saturday or Sunday, schedule dependent. DM me if you’re interested in going.

P.S. been a while since I’ve played there but the chips were dirty, worn linen finish Chipco’s IIRC. Not worth harvesting.

I’ve played and harvested here. Good limit game.

I bought two racks and told the lady I was walking out the door with them. She told me once I bought them they were mine and she didn’t care what I did. The floor guy was standing there and he just nodded. I walked out with the chips in the racks in my hand.

There is some spot color difference - slight - and not noticeable in play, but racked up you can see some darker purple on some and a lighter on others.
