Pretty sure that’s just different batches of clay used for the base and inserts.

I don’t know. I’ve never seen the $1000 with 4 edge spots on it before. I feel like there would be more out there if these weren’t a mistake

Actually all the $1k chips have the same edge spots. Just half of the inserts use the same color as the base. You can usually make those inserts out if you look carefully even when BCC used the same clay batch. But often they used different batches, sometimes a pretty decent match, other times really far (some would say too far) from matching the color of the previous batch.

Right, I’ve seen variations on the frac and $1s quite often. Just never on the $1000.

Has anyone ever seen this version of the $1000 with the different edge spots? @Eriks received some of them recently and they look incredible. So much better than the one I’ve always seen.

Not on Samauri's, but on other BCC chips, sure. And worse. They were legendary for it and other major QA/QC fuck-ups. Rarely owned it, either. They mostly just didn't care.

But when they got it right..... man-o-man.
