Sold Rockingham Park $2s - LIMIT CHIP MADNESS (1 Viewer)

I have 2,997 Rockingham $2s and 600 $25s for sale. That's right, 3,597 chips!

I'm looking to sell these in two limit sets.
1,000 $2s with 200 $25s. The buyers will have dibs on the remaining chips to add to their sets.

The $2s are relatively worn with some nicks here and there. The $25s are in pretty good shape.

Asking $210 per set (that's just over 0.17 per chip!) Plus shipping. Forgot that part.

Not a bad idea. Maybe even start it off silly low at 1/2 FL. Provide dinner, shit like that and make it a party. I like it.

I think first I'm going to wait and try my hand at it next weekend at club @courage . I guess I should know a little bit about it before I start advertising it lol.

Yeah definitely $1/2 limits. Makes it super cheap and makes the betting super simple. Tell them it's just a gambling game and not a strategy game. Eventually they'll realize that limit games can be fun and when you want to bring in the regular games it won't seem foreign at all.

My birthday is in FEB. I think I'll plan for something like this. When I do I'll reach out to you and a few other guys for tips and suggestions.

@MacGrad In case you're trying to keep track I also have some, but I won't know in the short term whether I would be interested in letting them go. Just moved and I need to figure out what stakes my games will be playing at here, but first have to go house hunting before I even start spreading games.

I have 600 $1s, 1700 $5s, and 800 $25s, so if I can't get a $1/1+ game running regularly then I'll probably be selling at some point, but like Jim, I'll list them on PCF first for sure.

I'm tempted to pick up a limit set (pending a review of the finances) but, knowing my group, I'd need a rack of $1s to help with the blinds and to make change for the $25s. That's why I'm asking these questions -- basically, I'm trying to figure out what's available from the overall RP set and/or try to determine if I'd need to purchase customs (or another casino chip) to fill in gaps.

I keep talking to my players about trying a limit structure (it would be new to all of us). None of them are even remotely interested Hell, not even sure I'm interested as I have never played in a limit structured cash game. I plan on it next weekend

This player IS interested! I used to play limit before I played with you guys Bill. Mike N. (whom you have played with) used to run that type of game and it was fun. I would certainly do it again.

I'd be shocked if you weren't able to cobble together a rack from those of us who have sets. Put out the WTB and I'm sure we all spare enough that you'll get to a hundred pretty quickly.

I wouldn't worry about making change, though. It's very easy to just trade two $25s for 50 $2s with someone at the table and then buy the new player in with the $2s. If $1s aren't used as antes or blinds for the game, they will hurt gameflow and I'd keep them off the table.

I'm going to wait and play in the limit game at the meet up. Get a feel for it. Then we discuss giving this a try.

@MacGrad Rockingham used to have $20s on hand back when they only spread fixed limit. Even then, they were pretty rare; I only ever saw a handful of them behind the cashier's counter, never on a table.

Once NL/PL became available a couple years ago, they switched their set to $1/$5/$25. They hung onto their red $2s (and maybe yellow $4s) in case of a limit game, but I never saw their blurple $20s or lavender $1s again. I asked about their fate right when the switch happened, but I got no answer about where they went.

If I understand correctly, at least the $25s and possibly the $2s were made by GOCC, so you may be able to get similar customs made to fill out your set. I'm not sure if you could use the the same logo to make them, though. Rock is out of business, but someone may still hold the trademark and/or GOCC just won't do it. (If not, I say just make them "RockingBAM Park.")

I honestly forgot about these or I would have bought a set. It would really fit my needs for a 2/4 limit set damn't. I already bought a chipco set off of Scott.

Anyone interested in a 1000 Chipco's for 320 shipped? Then I could buy these
