Was wondering for the Barrington table if it's a lot of work to reupholster the table. I was thinking of buying a topper but since I'm already planning on upgrading the cup holders is it worth just reupholstering instead of buying a topper

I know little about the Barrington tables, as I’ve only seen them in pics. I can tell you building a table is ridiculously easy minus the upholstering portion. Having smaller sections of rail to do instead of one large rail does radically make things easier and cheaper. But, upholstering the rail and the materials to do the job are like 2/3 of the work and budget for a table with folding legs and no LEDs.

I know someone is going to chime in at my 2/3 comment… I’m only referring to tables with cheap folding legs and no LEDs/raised rail/etc. in other words, basic speed cloth and a standard rail.

I’m not suggesting you shouldn’t reupholster, but if it were me, I’d use what I could for parts if it came to that. The legs and anything else that can be salvaged and buy a couple sheets of plywood. Probably a similar budget and a much nicer table in the end.

There are dozens of documented table build threads on here. And a ton of people share their plans. You don’t need advanced woodworking abilities or tools. A jigsaw, drill, razor of some kind and a stapler get the job done.

I already have an old Barrington table but I want to make it nice. It's that gross brown color. Planning on doing the cup holder upgrade just thinking about reupholstering it in a DIY project since I'm changing out the cup holders to begin with or just wait to get the custom topper

I’m. It sure why I bother sometimes. Good luck!

Appreciate it, it'll be a fun project

I wouldn't go through the effort of refelting the table. If you have plans for a lot of upgrades, either build a table, find something on Facebook marketplace that's a better starting point, or find a local builder to source a build.

If you're mostly happy with the barrington, I would get a topper and call it a day. You can even get slide in cup holders that may work for the time, but putting too much time or money into a barrington seems like resources put into the wrong place.
