I've been looking around for a good set of cards for a home game. I have been checking out some faded spades sets. I really like the art work on them. Are they a good buy?

We have some FS’s. They look great but are a little stiff and sort of slick. Combined with the slightly textured backs they’re a tough shuffle. We rotate setups so much that while they’d probably break in at some point it’s not going to happen too quickly here. Good looking cards though for sure.

thanks for the info. use to have a set of kems a long time ago from a trip to Vegas. They were alright, but the bridge kind. Wasn't a fan.

I know there is a lot of hate towards them but my group and I love Kems. I have three sets one set is from the 80's and the other two are newer Kem Arrows and truthfully I think they have the perfect texture and stiffness for hand shuffled games and personally have never had any major warping issues. We rotate through a lot of brands but my top 3
1: Kems
2: Broken Arrow
3: Copag

Spinettis is having a 50% off moving sale. Just picked up two boxes of these cards. Made in Italy and they feel great.
Bridge size/std. index.

I’m nuts with cards and own samples from every manufacturer. Kems are by far the best feeling but if not stored correctly can bow. They are also 3x the price I used to find them for… so I can’t recommend them recommend them.

The best feeling card made next to Kems are Angels but you have to like bridge size regular index, and you have to be willing to buy them through the Japanese Amazon site. They might actually feel slightly better than Kem cards and are probably my absolute favorites of any card made anywhere. But again limited to one design one color way

Fournier we are also great feeling cards but again I have to be purchased through eBay from Europe..

Unfortunately, in the US were down to only a few choices. Da Vinci cards off Amazon are pretty nice, Copags are OK too. Broken arrow is a vendor on this website who sells cards very cheap. They feel pretty good also but the ink may fade quicker than other cards. That said he sells them very very cheap. I have about four or five unopened set ups and one and in play.

Desjgn cards are absolutely beautiful and a recent kickstart for a new model just got delivered to him for distribution. You might be able to find some of his older cards on Etsy or wait to this new run is available for purchase to the public.

Only one color option left of these but they are outstanding https://www.etsy.com/listing/1270008629/desjgn-100-plastic-playing-cards-bridge?ref=shop_home_active_5&logging_key=920893fce5afcbcbaeb7adc0a997a219c4f0a05a:1270008629

Faded spade classic bridge size are cool, Copaq is solid and Davinci have a lot of variety, KEM cards are not what they used to be and are way over priced, broken Arrow are a good bang for your buck, and try out the Monaco Elites by Regal, you can find alot of cost effective setups on Amazon and eBay

Find Broken Arrow on here. Cheap but fantastic.

This is hands down my Best Buy recommendation. The Professional Series. https://brokenarrowcards.square.site/ They’re really good at any price but the price makes them exceptional.

I’m actually also digging a new set of DaVinci. Chips and games.com (no affiliation) is the official us seller I believe. My understanding is is they’re American Modianos. Very reasonably priced.

I have faded spade and they’re one of my favorites with the great design. But the card feel is not my favorite. I’d still recommend them just cuz they’re so cool and fun to use. You can’t go wrong with them.

My best all around remains Desjgn though. Almost my top for handling but with wonderful artwork and pips make it my top pick.
