Tourney Raise...by/to? (1 Viewer)

although it's preferable that they do so anyway, since it's the dealer's (or floor/TD) responsibility to provide an accurate and unbiased count
It's funny, I recently saw a video of a game from just a few years ago, where Doyle said he doesn't answer that question. And I recently picked up the original Super System, in which he mentioned that he doesn't answer that question. So the man's opinion on that issue didn't change in 40 years.
I admit, I always answer the question, though I'm rethinking that.
But I agree here that even in the most amateurish of home games, people shouldn't be answering that question before it's asked.

If asked by my opponent in a friendly home game, I will always give a rough estimate, but prefer not to give the actual count - unless I know the exact amount, which is usually a very small number.

In a casino, I'm not likely to say anything. That's what the dealer is paid for, and I dont want to get called out for accidently misrepresenting the size of my stack.
