Question. How would you rule on this? (2 Viewers)

Why wouldn't you use the word "to"? It makes everything clearer. It's the same as saying total. "all day" and "to play" to me seem a little more vague.

I agree. Especially the phrase "to play" seems more vague.

$18 (total) "to play" could more easily be confused with $18 (more than you already committed) "to play".

"All day" drives me bat-shit-crazy. I mean it's fine when a casino dealer uses it after a 3-bet towards people who may not have really been paying attention but one game I attended I swear 80% of the guys there must have thought it was mandatory lingo. Real life example:

P1 "$2 all day"
P2 "$7 all day"
P3 "$15 all day"
Me "$40"
P4 "is that $40 all day?"

:eek::confused::sick:

is "All say" a regional thing? I don't hear it often around these parts. It does sound vague to me, but I guess if it means "total" and everyone knows that meaning it is ok, if a bit annoying

Never heard of 'all say' -- can you use it in context?

"All day" may be regional. I hear it once in a while up in the north east. Some players may use it pretty often, but most won't. Ronohs story is hilarious and totally believable if you get a table of guys who all seem to favor it. It doesn't bother me at all as an occasional replacement for total, but when overused...lol yea it's going to get old real fast.

When asked, I just say: "Make it look like $40." That way, it makes no difference how much they've already put in....

make it 18 pretty clear that he wanted to Make it 18 he never said raise. it was implied that it was a raise but capped at 18. still id let the table know what poker zombie said. there was some possible interpritation there. so no one as totally right or wrong per se.
