Pulse poker arm rest table topper (2 Viewers)

Agreed. Simple concept, but fills a niche.

Would suggest an option for just the rails, for those that already have a mat.

Works for square, rectangle and hexagon...doesn't work with oval mats, though. :confused

EDIT: $149 ($120 if you prepay) for 6 pieces seems pricey, tho.

Yeah it’s a bit pricy and would need more options even singles for replacements and prob different shapes if your target audience is diner tables…

DIY table builders: Save your scraps and you can make these for an easy dining room table conversion. Boom. Two tables.

I stumbled upon these on a FB ad. Do they say dimensions anywhere? I am already getting a custom mat for my dining table, but like the idea of rails.

I love this idea for a second table. I can set up one in the living room, and just make the dining room a table #2 or a dash game table.

I hope the rails stick as well as they advertise. My only concern.

And I HATE card placements for the community cards on the mat… never practical.

But overall, a great idea.

Had to dig around into their FB comments/responses

1. Playing Surface Dimensions (Inner Area): We designed the frame to fit the two global standards for game mats:

Standard: 180cm x 90cm.
Compact: 140cm x 70cm.

2. Armrest Width: The rail itself is 10cm wide all the way around. This gives you a solid, comfortable ledge for your arms and chip stacks without eating up too much table space.

Welp, I may still end up getting this... my table is 42" x 72", so it will be 6" or so short on the width. Likely will just leave a gap on the corners until they make smaller filler segments.

A couple things have given me pause on backing this kickstarter. First, the FB page seems rather fishy. Attached is a screenshot from their post last night, trying to get people to pledge immediately upon launch on kickstarter.

Their funding goal was only $5k. And the payment method on kickstarter is HK$.

However, they were very responsive to feedback and commentary on the FB page.

Maybe I'm being a little cynical, but some of the vibes I am getting are giving me pause.

I’m sure it’s a stupid AI thing, but I can’t get over the table in their video. It has like 16 cupholders on the playing surface. Why would you go with that picture? Can’t you just tell AI to fix it?

I like how it’s already set up for 11 card double board PLO

I like this idea a lot, assuming it’s real. I now have a custom built one, so I’m out of the market, but something like this would have been terrific when I hosted on my dining room table.

Anyway, I don’t think it is “pricey” at all, especially at the early bird pricing. (Again, assuming it’s real.) Any cheaper, and it would surely be at a loss for the manufacturer.

Meanwhile the buyer can use this for years. If you host 70 games with them, that’s a cost of $2/per game @ $140. 60 games @ $120.

I do have two questions:

1) Will custom-sized mats and rail lengths be an option down the road? I think a lot more people would go for it if they could get an exact fit for their table.

2) If one already has a topper, what type of material will the non-skid strips grip on well?

The only one of those that I have an answer for is the rail size. They only have 2 sizes available now, but said that they may provide filler segments after the initial launch.

I am going to hold off for now, until I see some real products and something that would work for my table size. My table would use their 90x180 cm + a couple filler pieces.

DIYers, leave a square at the end for locking in to the next piece. Make it the same width and length so the next piece can be laid in line, or turned 90 degrees for a corner.

DM for address to send royalty checks.

I was thinking strong magnets so they can stick together.

This is actually a super elegant solution. But if you wanted to connect at an angle between 0 and 90 degrees, this wouldn't work. But for 0 and 90 degrees, it's great!
As long as the "connecting" sides are flat, it should still work even though it's not 0/90 degrees. Random pic as an example of what I mean.

If you connect side-to-side (as opposed to top-to-bottom), the angle is going to be predetermined by the angle of the rail piece.

You could make all rail pieces standard, then have connecting pieces with the proper angles (0, 30, 45, 60, 90) that fit between the rails.

I just backed this kickstarter after inquiring about the rail system since I have a custom extra large topper that will need 2 rail systems. It will fit my dimensions really close of 42” x 92”. I’m surprised no one thought of this before.
