So this is definitely happening? Do we need to go to the link to pre-order if we expressed interest in the thread already?

I'll round up my New Jersey contingent and will place an order and distribute to save on shipping.

I was mostly in to try Piatnik cards. I am out with change in manufacturer. Thanks.

No probs! Thanks for your interest. The massive MOQ + huge cost of a Piatnik order would have complicated things - or at least meant we would have been waiting around for a long time while we raised a good portion of the funds. Switching to a manufacturer with a lower MOQ and slicker OEM means we can crack on and turn this into a reality a lot sooner and potentially with a better product at the end of it.

Yes it is absolutely happening! And yes if you wish to pre-order you will need to click through to the shop and place your order. I will message people who have shown interest individually to explain the process :)

Thanks again for your support!

Glad you found a printer for these cards.

Piatnik - of course!
Fournier - yes!
Modiano - yes!
Dal Negro - yes!
Marion Pro - i can‘t imagine the ultimate deck is from them… so no. Sorry!

Well, the others on that list all got serious consideration for this project but we managed to rule them all out through various methods, & I did name Kuo Kau with Marion Pro stock as a top 3 printer in my first post. Only heard good things about them.

Cheers!

How much per set up for 20 to the US?

*I just tossed 20 in the cart and went checkout...thanks

Have you ever played with Marion Pro? IME they do everything well. No ink loss, no warping, no smell and they handle almost like Fournier. I've never played with Piatnik but Marion Pro is right up there and maybe even better then some of the other three. Marion Pros downside is a lack of selection.

This is 13GBP per setup which is apparently $17.47

Shipping wise, for an order that size, please note: LARGE INTERNATIONAL ORDERS OF 12 SETS OR MORE - your order will go through with a free shipping code and we will contact you immediately prior to sending to finalise and collect payment for shipping at the best available rate on that day, with a small discount applied as a good will gesture from us.

Any more questions please let me know :)

I have only heard and seen good things as well, although in the UK I couldn't even buy one in to test myself (only available in bulk and/or very expensive to get). On a side note I did get myself a Piatnik setup for market research purposes and while I love the brand and heritage and I'm sure I was just unlucky, my setup came in a thin plastic box which was cracked and the cards were warped and unevenly cut (!) Still decent & usable but certainly didn't make a great impression.

I am quietly confident that Marion Pro stock will be very well received and represent a sound choice out of all the available printers.

I will also be doing my best to stay in touch with people using the version 1 setup to gather feedback and see if anything can be improved upon for version 2, including (if it came to it) stock & finish.

Thank you!

Last night we broke out the Marion Pros just to make sure I wasn't talking out my ass. Yes, they are excellent in every way. (texture, handling, no ink loss, no warping, no smell, etc.) They have a nice crisp shuffle without being stiff. If anyone doesn't like Marion Pro, I'd sure like to know why? My setup even came in a nice plastic case.

However mine are bridge size and bridge size is what you should really consider for version 2.

I just placed my pre-order. Happy to support your efforts to bring us more choices in the premium playing card market.

Pleased to hear! And thank you for your support. It is genuinely appreciated! :)

All hands are on deck with version 1 right now, but I hope and plan for Bridge options in the future, absolutely. If MOQs were smaller I'd have done a Poker & Bridge straight off, but alas, one had to be chosen over the other, for now...

Cheers!

I realize it didn't work out with Piatnik, and, I've never used a Marion Pro card to my knowledge, but, $25 shipped per set up (on cardboard boxes) is not what I had envisioned from initial posts. I'm out.

Sorry to hear. Just out of interest, what would have won you over/what were you envisioning? I believe I have succeeded in offering a great quality product at good value, which was my intention, although there is nothing I can do about international shipping costs other than pass them on.

As for the boxes, Marion Pro can pack into plastic trays but I chose boxes especially after my experience with piatnik where the plastic they used for their setup was cheap and thin and arrived cracked. I can only assure you that cutting corners or cheapening the product hasn't been a consideration at any stage of this process, in fact the opposite is true (gold foil on the box, adding a cut card etc).

Just some thoughts. Cheers!
