Loving the app. Any chance you can make it so that when using it on an iPad the screen won’t lock? Like override the system settings for the auto-lock so the screen doesn’t go black?

Thanks! While the timer is running and the app is open, it does keep the device (iPad, phone, etc.) from going to sleep. I'll take a look at the code and make sure its working as expected.

You can turn auto lock off in settings

I know. It’s just annoying to have to go in to turn it off before each game and then go back in and turn it back on. Would be nice to have the feature built in to the app, which it sounds like it is, although I don’t believe it was working properly for me.

@AppMakerRonB I was running the timer during two tournaments last night and had a few issues with connected iPad devices not starting the timer when I started it from my phone even though they were connected to internet. Once I closed the window on the iPads, reopened and went to tournament, it synced up, but wanted to report the bug in the new version.

Have not had that happen in prior versions. Was running on an iPhone and two iPads with latest IOS and your latest app version installed on all three.

Thanks for the report. Were all devices signed into the same account, or were the iPads using the QR code link feature for their connection? There was a major change between app versions before 5.0.0+405 and after. Devices on an old version can't sync with devices that have been updated to the new version. Let me know if you see more issues. Thanks!

Yes, they are all my devices and signed into the same account. I don't use the QR codes for my own devices. I made sure they were all updated to the latest IOS version and latest version of the App before the Saturday tournament.

The first notice of the issue was after the pre-tournament countdown ended (it all worked fine when I first set them up and opened the app on each, the countdown was running). I primarily use my phone to control the timer. After the pre-tournament countdown ends the tournament goes to level 1 and pauses until I officially start the tournament. I did that via my phone but didn't even notice that the two iPad timers set to that tournament did not start up. A few minutes later, someone said something and I saw they had not started. I had to completely close the window on both Ipads, re-open it and then re-open the correct tournament and they were then synced to the running tournament and matched the time on my phone.

It happened again for the 2nd tournament, and I think there was an issue after one of the pauses as well. Have not had those issues with prior versions. Will try to replicate and see if I can get more specific information for you. Other than that, it ran fine.

*Side question unrelated to above: I am not sure if this is just how I have my tournament alerts set up or not, but I use my phone to control starts, stops, knockouts etc. but I don't leave have the app open and running the whole time when I am sitting at the table. I use my phone for other things or have it in my pocket. I will pick it up and open the app to record a knockouts, rebuys, or pause as needed, etc. One thing I have noticed is w/ a running tournament, when I open the app on the phone to record a knockout or something, it will give me a repeat of the last announcement made (such as Attention players, the small blind is x and the big blind is Y even if we are mid-way through that blind level). Is there any way for me not to get that "repeat" announcement every time I open up the app on my phone? Thanks for your help!

I'll look into this. In the meantime, you can tap the speaker icon in the top right of the main menu and turn on "Mute audio", which is a per-device setting for muting alerts on that device.

The new version does a better job of noticing if the connection to the server is having problems. When it notices a problem it shows a little red exclamation point icon where the menu icon normally is. If you tap it, it shows a message at the top of the menu explaining what's wrong. I'm guessing this didn't happen in your case though. Just wanted to mention it.

I was not able to replicate the sync issue at home. Could potentially have just been crappy wifi at the location we were playing at. Will see if it recurs and let you know. Thanks Ron.
