Hi,

I ordered CPC chips. Is there a general rule of thumb of what to do once you receive them? Do folks typically clean them and oil them? The chips I ordered are non hybrid.

Haha nice. So no need to do any washing or anything for factory?

They’ll be dusty from the grinding process. You can wipe them down with a moistened cloth to remove the dust.
They will look dry, so if you want the colors to pop, use a very small amount of mineral oil on the corner of a cloth. Grab 10 or 20 at a time and wipe the oil on the edges only. Use a separate cloth to wipe off the oil and wipe the faces at the same time. Not usually recommended to oil the faces…the residual oil from oiling the edges is enough for the face.

With new ones I prefer to clean the dust off with water and a rag, let them dry and then oil the entire chip, including faces, by hand.

Lots of differing opinions on chip oiling and methods, here is a thread full of them:

Not sure what you mean by “non-hybrid” chips, “hybrid” chip is usually a term bandied about by Chinese ceramic buyers.

I think hybrid is sticker and non-hybrid is printer sublimination

Grab a barrel at a time and use a rag with a little mineral oil. Wipe off any excess. Colors will instantly pop.

Thank you so much! Are those CPC? If so, what racks did you get? I can’t figure out which ones will fit the 39mm

“Dennis racks” sold by the vendor “Key West Resort & Casino” here.

Thank you! Do we just pm him or what’s the method to order?

If you bought ceramic dye sublimation chips from CPC, which you appear to be calling “non-hybrid”, I would skip the oil.

Thank you! I wonder if the CPC Anita will fit

Ceramics are not going to accept any oil, you’ll just make them slippery, cleaning with water, if even needed, should be sufficient.

Sorry I just realized I thought CPC stood for ceramic poker chips. I got ceramic dye sublimation not classic.

Thank you! Is dye sublimation inferior to stickers?

In my opinion, ceramic chips are inferior to clay chips, but the ceramics will be cheaper. Some are ok with that trade off. The distinction is in what the chip is made of, not the labeling method.

You can also ignore basically everything else on this thread, you had folks confused as to what you were buying and they were giving advice to you pertaining to clay chips from classic poker chips, not Chinese ceramic chips.
