Hey all,

Looking for some feedback. Next purchase will be ‘nice’ poker chairs. Spoke with the owners at Topline seating today to get an idea.

I will go adjustable height, since my table feels ‘high’ with the rail and lights, and would rather have players be able to change the height to suit individual comfort.

For the seat back style - does anyone have strong feelings or recommendations?

I think I prefer the look of ‘B2’ which is the narrower style vs the other ones (like the wider alibaba/pharaoh) but I’d rather buy for function and comfort over aesthetic. Not sure if it makes a difference:

I have the 5LC models with what looks to be the B2 back but w/ the side stitching cutouts. I went with black on black, but you can mix the colors.

I love those chairs. They are solid and comfortable. Got the first batch of 8 over four years ago and have had zero issues. They have held up extremely well. Have never had any second thoughts about making that investment and am still happy I did.

Tell Norman and John I said hello, they are great guys to work with. Here is a pic of one of mine:

Went with B2 as well except the dealer chair is 2 inches taller and I think is B3. Hardly noticeable between the 2. I ordered mine thru GG.

Just looked no prices for the 5LC model on Top line website, any idea per chair $250-$300 my guess

Pretty sure mine are the B1 model. I love them, but have no basis for comparison. I can honestly say that compared to every other poker chair I’ve purchased, and I have probably 30 stackable chairs in my garage with another 30 gaming/office chairs we’ve tried over the years, there isn’t much comparison. They are ridiculously comfortable. I love that every player can set their own comfort for height. When the dealer needs a break, I hop over and deal and it sure is nice to be able to tower over the table as the dealer, then go back to my lower playing position when I want. Probably the best bang for the buck investment in my game I’ve ever made.

If I was playing on a different surface, I may have opted for wheels, but I really like the sliders for my carpet.

Yeah, they were both on the call. I really like their ‘straight talking’ non-salesy approach.

Without asking, they starting talking about other options I could consider, they mentioned Worldwide Gaming might be cheaper, also discussed American Gaming /chinese Alibaba options. They mentioned Gary Platt & Gasser are high volume and I’d need to buy like 100+ for those guys to entertain an order but finding those used can be an option.

Hadn’t checked this one before, not what I’m looking for though:

I'm tall so I would choose B1. I have no experience with these except at the local casino has some nice chairs similar to this. I'm sure whatever you get, your players will be happy and thankful.

Checking out the different 5LC styles

Assuming a footrail is more for a dealer option since they’ll be sitting higher?

For higher stakes will likely have a full time dealer, so might go for one of those.

Leaning toward the below for the rest of the chairs for shape /style, not sure accent /colors yet:

I agree ☝️

Don’t know if this info is helpful, but fwiw I’m 6’2” and my table is 2” higher than standard (on purpose). One of my regs brings his gf every so often and she is maybe 5’2”. Think my tallest players are around 6’4”. The higher table is great for the larger people, but the height adjustment on the chairs means Breann is still comfy. I have asked if she preferred the standard height table (low stakes) and prior to the chairs arriving, she did. Now, she says she’s happier on the bigger table since she’s able to give herself a couple inch boost.

Where did you get the table?! It looks amazing and I'm in the market for a custom table ;)

I build my own. That particular table has a twin sister. They aren’t identical. I made the main ever so slightly larger to more comfortably fit ten players, plus a dealer, if desired. We still normally play 8 handed, as that’s my preference, but if we have a new player reserve a seat, I generally overbook, since noobs chicken out and don’t show with such regularity. This way, if they show, we are a bit crowned until someone busts and goes home, but not short handed if and when they no show. The side tables aren’t open all that often. I used to open them and play smaller stakes on one, but it’s just more work for me with no upside. We don’t charge a rake or anything, so I’m just putting extra responsibilities on myself and taking away from my own play. So, the side tables are mostly for MTTs with limited exceptions.

I love building custom tables and do make them for others. Helping someone bring their raw idea into a finished table, fully customized to their own specs, felt design, shape, rail style, etc. is quite enjoyable for me. But, shipping is a problem. I don’t know how the big boys ship freight without spending a fortune. I’ve done some digging and not come up with a viable solution. So, local pickup has been my only offerings at this point.

I bought my chairs through staples (commercial division). I got these chairs for a little over $200/chair. I did not use the arms. If I recall correctly, shipping was only $50 for all 9 chairs. The tempur-pedic seat cushion is awesome and these chairs are a nice size to fit all players. Just another option for your consideration.

I think if you search around, you’ll find some other threads on this… Anyway, I definitely think spending $300 or even $500/each for quality chairs is worth doing if (but only if) …

A. You expect to host a lot, and for a long time, so the cost is spread out over many years;

B. You’re hosting higher than 25¢/50¢;

C. You will be able to recoup a nice chunk of the price if/when you sell them, even after years of wear.

(NOTE: If you’re ridiculously rich, obviously just go ahead and spend even more, and ignore A.-C.)

I spent $300-$400 per chair when I upgraded my room, because I’ll really use them, they’re super comfy, they’re a design classic, I host 2/5, and I got an incredible deal on most of these from a liquidator, after hunting all over for a good price. Yes, I spent ~$3.5K on chairs… But I could sell these tomorrow for $8K-12K, no joke.

So: Frequency, stakes, quality, resale value = rationalization for a splurge I probably would have made anyway because I always wanted these chairs lol
