I’m planning to play the next Holdem tourney blind. Buy in is only $10 so I won’t be out much when I likely don’t cash. Usually around 12-16 players show up. I’ll consider it a success if I make the final table. I’ll be ecstatic if I finish in the money. The idea is to see if I happen to notice more things going on at the table. I don’t plan to let anyone know that I’m not looking. I want them to think that I’m looking like I normally do. Hopefully I don’t get caught!

I think it will be very difficult as it’s a very limp heavy game. A majority of the players are hard to bluff, so I’ll have to really pick my spots, or go all in a lot and hopefully not get called.

I’m trying it just for fun and to hopefully heighten my poker senses and awareness.

Anyone else ever attempt something like this? Any tips?

Tip-do a fake card peek. Do everything as you would normally, but don’t lift the cards

Or close your eyes at the "head down seeking a peek" stage. Do it when action is on someone else(!)

If folks ask why you're not looking at your cards often, you could also say you're trying to avoid looking at them more than once.

ETA: tips for actually playing? No idea. As an exercise in raising your awareness of how others play and how to play them, it sounds really interesting. Please let us know how it goes!

Cool idea. But the problem is you'll have to show your cards at every showdown, and that might look weird when you show hands you should have mucked.
But good luck. Its a cool excercise.

I’ve won online sngs playing entirely blind with a post-it note stuck over my cards... it’s fun. Man I miss the good old days of PokerStars :(
