Talking Stick is offering a $300 Pineapple mixed event as part of their King of Mix tournament series this week.

The events are:

1) Crazy Pineapple (dealt 3; discard 1 after flop, play 0-2 cards from hand)….

2) Lazy Pineapple (dealt 3, no discard, play exactly 2 cards from hand)….

3) Ultimate Pineapple (?!?)

I’m assuming Ultimate is dealt 3, no discard, play either 0-2 or 0-3 cards from hand)

Anyone play a similarly named event before and have confirmation / contradiction regarding exactly how the Ultimate variant is played?

Sounds right, but whenever we play lazy, you can use 0, 1 or two cards. Never played ultimate but your assumption seems spot on.

Wouldn't ultimate using 0-3 just be Super Holdem

at the old folks game we run a lot of double board Crazy Pineapple. Then regular pineapple.

We play keep all 3 and play 0-3 and just call it Super Hold-Em.

A serious, non-circus variant is Cuckoo, NL:
You discard the 3d hole card upon seeing the flop, but the remaining 2 hole cards are both obligatory to use (so, Tight Hold'em or Greek Hold'em or 2-card Omaha).

Circus game, PL, double-board split-pot: Twin Baby Mammoths.
3 hole cards, two 3-card boards (single card flop, turn and river for each board). Self-imposed rule: 3 hole cards and 2 from each board or vice-versa.

Yikes, rough day for the dealers, but I guess they may not have to actually deal it too much cause it's hard to imagine it running many hands per level if they don't know it and a lot of players don't either.

I played in a Pineapple tournament at the Sahara once. It was a shit-show as the dealers were out of their element.

However, Mrs Zombie finished 1st and I took 2nd, while the 3rd place finisher hung around to see who would win. it was a blast. A shit-show that was an immence amount if fun because all the wannabe "pros" tilted and went out early.
