Booked a Vegas trip with friends (group of 6) for June 15-20. I'll be going to the chip convention for a couple hours one day, and probably be with friends the rest of the time. Looking for a budget-y hotel on the strip. We've stayed at Flamingo, PH, Rio, Vdara, and Cosmopolitan in the past. Cosmo was obviously the nicest, but we can't accommodate those prices for everyone in my group.

Poker/gambling won't be the main focus of this trip, so don't need a poker room under the hotel or within walking distance. Mainly we want a hotel that's within walking distance of good/nice bars and restaurants.

Any suggestions? I usually just go to vegas to play poker/gamble, so not sure what the bar/restaurant scene looks like on the strip.

Park MGM is a nice option, we usually like to stay Aria Cosmo Bellagio, but when friends are with us we stay at Park MGM, close enough to walk to Aria/Cosmo or you can take the tram to Bellagio and walk from there. Lots of good food at Eataly inside Park MGM as well

No poker / gambling? Why go? Lol kidding

The bar restaurant scene can be silly expensive. I bet PCF can come thru big time w recommendations.

Other things to do I’ve had fun walking thru the valley of fire. Easy hikes.

Also side by side quad rentals in the dunes are fun.

Adult humor show Absinthe at Caesers!

seems like MGM and park MGM are fan favorites. Gonna check out the rates on those. TI felt a little gimmicky for me when I visited, but maybe the price differential is great enough to stay there.

Park MGM is likely a great fit for a group trip. Good location, good food options, close to lots of good spots too.

Another vote for MGM…and it’s attached to the monorail. Buy a 2 or 3 day monorail pass, grab a 190 octane with an extra shot of everclear from Fat Tuesdays, 2 Jell-O shots w/whip cream, and then head on down the strip on the monorail riding with cold A/C for cheap.

The sushi place at MGM is a ‘best sushi you’ve ever had in your life’ kinda place…and it’s casual dress…try a fatty salmon sashimi.

+1 for Absinthe for non-gambling activities.

Vdara for the low cost and ease of non pedestrian transportation. Every other option listed so far dumps you into the orgy of LVB traffic. It’s central to Bellagio Cosmo and Aria where I usually spend all my time.

Don't stay at MGM. It's all by itself. Literally the first move everyday will be to walk across the strip to all the other casinos. Closest decent place on that side is 30 min walk to Planet Hollywood. Rooms are at the back, far from the strip too.

Park MGM has all the cool bars/restos outside the arena, plus a free monorail to Aria/Cosmo/Bellagio which will have more bars/restos than you will be able to finish this trip.

Gotta say, probably the most underrated place in Vegas. Entire place nonsmoking, fantastic food joints, and extremely clean.

Not sure how many you'd like per unit, but we typically stay at the Marriott Grande Chateau, or Polo Towers. You can rent two bedroom suites with kithen and living room (with sofa bed) for pretty good rates. This 2 bedroom villa is $452 per night. $75 per person per night split 6 ways. Of course that might be a bit...mmmmm....interesting if it's not 3 couples...LOL!!

Alright you got 2 months... if your group is really frugal like me, tell everyone to download the myvegas apps like slots and blackjack and run up the points while they're taking their morning and evening shits lol FREE ROOMS!

I've stayed at almost every hotel on the strip and the best budget friendly with the best location has to be Treasure Island and/or Mirage. Its right in the middle of everything but also doesn't cost $500+ a night.

I have stayed at ParkMGM and enjoyed it. My last trip, I stayed at Virgin which is nice but very quiet. Not much of a bar scene or huge crowd there.

IIRC Park MGM is non-smoking which is nice. It makes a big difference when it comes to rooms too.

lol I thought this would be beyond the scope of his question. Wynn Slots is my favorite slots app for "free" rooms at the Wynn. Additionally, start churning Marriot/Hyatt/Hilton credit cards for them sweet points.

interesting idea, I'll have to run this by my group. I suspect even $75 per person per night is too expensive for some in my group xD. Think some are trying to keep it ~$200 for total accommodation, so quite frugal. Also it's not 3 couples, only 1 couple: group of 2 guys and 4 girls. We don't mind sharing beds :)

didn't think about this lol. I wonder how long it takes to run up enough points to comp a night :ninja:

so far we're liking Park MGM, it's right in our budget. I'm giving Mirage and TI a look; just figuring out which location is geographically better access to restaurants and bars.
