The best day of the year for Shasta. Saturday was the day the local private mountain allows an annual hike. So she got her longest walk of the year.

Since the entrance is very close to our house and many people with dogs: Winston is jealous and anti-social. So had to take him in my truck to an area about a mile away so I could give him a walk.

Nice looking boxer!

Curious if you had the cat before getting the dog, or got it after? My kids would love to have a cat, but I'm worried about our boxer hurting it. He's the jealous type.
Thanks. He's a handful!!! Cat before the dog, which is probably why he gets along without hurting her (he still plays a little too rough with her sometimes).

Ours (Winston) is pretty low maintenance. He was our 'Covid' dog. More of an impulse buy during that time and a local breeder about a mile away had him. He was the last puppy and is the runt. He's really small compared to other boxers, 48lbs.

The main issue with him is he is jealous and can be aggressive to the other dogs. Usually centered around food or attention. A few times because Yoda (our little Yorkie) is older and blind, sometimes disoriented. He has bumped into Winston and gotten attacked.

He's been doing better lately. We've somewhat figured out what triggers him and he's had a good run lately with not attacking the others two. I have decided that because of his aggressiveness, that we won't get any more dogs until he is no longer with us.

I had two other boxers in the past. I did have a big male that was only aggressive to dogs he didn't know. Never showed aggression to people or our other pets. My other previous boxer was a female and wouldn't hurt a fly.

Well, mine (Bulleit) actually moved in with me when the girlfriend did. So my girlfriend had a female boxer (Mac) who was the "best dog ever" according to her. Then she got a companion (Charlie). Charlie was a gentle dog, but honestly acted kinda dumb. When Mac died, she got Bulliet. Bulliet was/is also a Covid dog and only was exposed to her and Charlie for months. So he's pretty hyper, but also full of anxiety. He still just pees whenever he's nervous or excited. But he attacked an opossum who was carrying babies one time. So i dont trust him around small animals/dogs (except for the cat who was larger than him when he was introduced to her). But the doggy daycare says he's good with the other dogs (he's only with big dogs). But he is really nervous and hates going there. He's a 65 pound baby. But full of energy. He lunges at other dogs when walking him on the leash. Not sure he'll ever change. We took him to obedience school. it helped a little. ….and I think he wants to eat my cigar!

Not my cat....but she apparently thinks she is. We are around week 3 of her hanging out with us. After a week, I took her to the vets to see if she had a microchip - she does. Her name of record is "Sabrina" (brother "Salem"), but we call her Mrs. Bean (she's a jumper). She's supposed to be a barn cat for the people across the street (people with too much money, who else would chip a barn cat?). She has been going back periodically, but after a friend let her in their guest house repeatedly, she's clearly looking for a new spot. She's been in and out of our house repeatedly (she is very speedy) and loves to have me go outside and create a lap. Fingers crossed she's a mouser.

Well, as the circle goes, a couple months ago we had to put our beloved 13 year old Lab mix Charlie to sleep. She developed a cancerous mass in her right nasal cavity that was in operable. We confirmed this with a full body CT scan. This is my sweetheart Charlie:

Moojie loved her too:

Charlie left a hole in our family that opened an opportunity to rescue another. Meet Lucy:

Lucy is a 5 month old “we don’t know what” rescued from a high kill shelter in Alabama. So far so good as she is sweet, playful, and gets along with Moojie.

A friend said they thought she was a Catahoula Leopard Dog. Whatever she is, we love her!

A couple posts above I introduced you to Lucy, our new puppy:

Today she discovered a couple new “toys”:

Oh the joys of puppyhood.

Puppies are fun lol.

I was questioning my wife's placement of the flowers she got for Mother's day, on the fireplace at near ground level. I wondered if it would be a child or a dog that would prove me right. It was Shasta (the white dog at the top of this page). At least she didn't break the vase.

Here’s my indoor and outdoor pets. Ash is my 8 year old Tabby. Beckham is my 13 year old Quarter horse. Both are good boys. Ash has been with me since his birth. Beckham was an auction rescue when he was two. While he is spirited, he is a great western style horse.
