I play penny poker now.... and I love it!

I spent thousands of dollars on my chip's, and I don't care, I like them.

Buy-in, $3. Re-buy's $5
$1 buys 300 in chips.
We play $1-$2

I'm not ashamed to say, the camaraderie is worth it.

Crazy. So you are actually playing $0.0033/0.0067 blinds... 1/3rd of a penny small blind. Definitely a nice way to get you higher denomination chips in play.

I misspoke.. buy I like your math.

$3 buys 300 in chips. $5 re-buy buys 500 in chips.

But I'm open to getting bigger chips.
This would not work with my regular group. At least the first 10 hands someone would go all in. And they'd want to be matching stacks until eventually they were rebuying at the $100 level. But we would be getting the $1K and $5K chips in play, so there's that.

But for a friendly family game, or game with non-gamblers, it's a great idea. I can personally have just as much fun with 300 pretend dollars in chips as I can with $300 in real money chips.

This comment was made by one of my regs at a game recently, when this subject came up...

My response:
That's why you weren't invited. I had my sister there, along with a variety of other " beginners".

Nothing wrong with that. I've played a lot of $2 tournaments.

Most people didn't cash out...

I provide a spread of food.. so the little bit helps on the loss of being tipped out at the end of the night.
