Welp, looks like that high roller set is coming sooner than I'd planned. Will pm order specifics soon.

I'm on the fence for a high roller, too. The upper denoms have the best colors.

PM sent for a mini 300 set, hoping to be able to add in the future.

International shipping if possible and/or cost friendly, otherwise Domestic, am flexible both ways.

Thanks Tommy for running this

I have to ask though...do you think it's possible that other group buys (eg cash sets) will happen through the same channels?
No idea on the prospect of future group buys, but I'd expect it to be pretty unlikely to ever see any chips produced with currency symbols. I think the manufacturer is viewing these strictly as a promotional item.

The amount of money that has gone GPI’s way from enthusiasts in the last couple years is nothing to sneeze at. I wish they would just let us have some home mold action again.

How do these handle/feel? Are they slippery like a lot of Paulson giant inlays ie Fan of Cards?

take it with a grain of salt as I have only handled two PCF $5 year anniversary chips (fire orange)..weight of those is around 8.5g (lightness could be due to particular base color composition). Maybe somewhat slippery.. I'd say they handle similar to PNY $5s if you've ever had those.

...lammer

95% going to get an order in on these.

@Tommy do you have dealer/bounty button designs in work? :D

Man, I do like the idea of a t5 as well. Anyone have a good breakdown for a 1 table set with it as the base?

If you really wanna go small, you can get by with 300 chips. T2K stacks with color-ups (for the T5 and T25) for 10 players. If you want to start deeper or have re-buy capabilities you need to add more T500s and/or T1Ks.

Starting stacks of 10/10/7/2 for T2K and a set of:

100 x T5
100 x T25
70 x T100
30 x T500

That's kinda the starting point. You can add to that as you wish.

Damn this is so tempting. I have two new sets currently on their way in the mail and I’m still thinking about making an order.

Can you expand to a 500-600 chip breakdown that would allow for deeper structure or rebuys?

Leaving for a poker tourney as we speak V1pe... if no one posts one while I’m out, I’ll post later on...

In the time it took you to write those two sentences, you could be sending an order to Tommy :)

I’m still working on justifying it in my own mind right now. With 2 tourney sets on the way, and the fact that I don’t play tournaments hardly ever, it’s a tough one.

I’m sure I’ll make the right decision though.

How do the experts feel about this 600 chip single table breakdown for playing as T5 or T25 base, and that can play very deep with lots of rebuys (or play a small 2-table tourney for 15ppl)?

100 T5
120 T25
120 T100
60 T500
140 T1K
60 T5K

Paulo's breakdown is based on T2000 starting stacks (10/10/7/2), with 6x of the extra T500 chips being used for color-ups of the T5 and T25 chips (leaving 4x spares). T2000 stacks are 200BB if using 5/10 opening blinds, which is a pretty hefty starting stack already.

To double that to 400BB (T4000 stacks, 10/10/7/6) plus re-buys, you'd need to add 36 more T500s for the starting stacks (actually 40x, but you have 4 spares already), 20x T1000s for five T4000 re-buys (using 4x T100 each), and 7x T1000 chips to cover the T100 color-ups (not required for the smaller T2000 stacks). That is a total of 66x T500 chips and 27x T1000 chips, for a total set of 367 chips -- well under 400 chips total.

Building it out to 500-600 chips for a single table T5-base tourney set is huge overkill, as those extra 100-200 chips would never get used. Only way to really justify a larger set would be to either plan for two tables, or expand the single-table set with including a T25-base capability in mind. Reference posts #58 and #64 for some alternate breakdown recommendations.

Sorry to be annoying, I’ve tried reading all the suggested breakdown posts, but I play so few tourneys that every time I buy a tourney set I end with stupid breakdowns.

If I wanted a high roller type set (mostly because all of my chips are cash Vegas colours and I want something bright) how would I work that into a really small 1 table set.

Would I just go with the group 10/10/7/2 starting stacks? And buy somewhere between 300-350 chips?

Any help is much appreciated, so I don’t buy another stupid breakdown.

I think it looks great, although I'd probably drop the T1000 count down to 120x (all that's really needed) and add 20x T25000 to get the total back up to 600 chips. Just 'cuz. :)

That will easily cover a 10-player T4000 event, plus a 15-player T10000 event, and some really big-stack T25- or T100-base 10-player events.

Which chips do you really want to use? There are T5-, T25-, T100-, and T500-base options.

If wanting a single-table high-roller set (T500-base, T300K stacks), see post #58 for a 400-chip breakdown -- basically just 100 chips each of the T500/T1000/T5000/T25000 denominations per 10 players.

For a single-table T5-base set (T2000 stacks), see post #168 for a great 300-chip option.

Here's what my spreadsheet is kicking out for a one-table baller tourney set. Includes color-up but not rebuys. Would love to have my math checked by someone more experienced.

But I'm in the same boat as you - don't play tourneys - already have a tourney set that isn't used at all - having a hard time resisting these chips. :)
