I’m content to take 30¢ on the dollar, which is nuts. I’d just like them to land with someone who will enjoy what they have. The exact same cigar fresh from the manufacturer is nothing close to what it’s like 6+ years down the road. I’ll find someone. 😉

It was cool going through them all and seeing what I have. It’d been so long, I kind of forgot about some of these beauties.
Maybe parcel them off then?

Trying to slow down a bit with a smoke and whiskey after a few hectic weeks at work and on the road. R&J Vintage paired with a Whiskey distinctively crafted for cigars - Penelope Cigar Sessions Batch 1. It's a very different take on cigar blend whiskies, whereas most are cognac or port finished and try to almost overpower the cigar, this pairs incredibly well by complimenting all the tobacco and earthy smoke notes with a light grain & single malt approach with subtle and sweet chocolate and fruity notes. Kind of like a scotch, minus ANY peaty notes. Really nice pairing, highly recommended!

Agree. I just tried this with cigars at the beach. Good stuff.

Winter is coming.... And with it, cold winds, snow, polar bears and frost goats.

So, I'm getting ready to build a little cigar lounge in my house and I'm looking for general advice. Those of you who already did this, what considerations do I need to make that might not be obvious?
And what would you have added to your own setup if you had just thought of it before?

As a veteran cigar smoker - Go BIG, no such thing as"a little cigar lounge" you will need want more space and more things than anticipated...Always.
(budget withstanding of course).

as I always say, Your mileage may vary.

BIG is unfortunately not an option... I have a large room at my disposal, but I just can't justify it to myself to use up the whole thing when I can divide it into a guest room AND a space to enjoy a cigar.

But it will be enough for two people to sit comfortably, maybe three.... And a wall to host a liquor cabinet, humidor(s), a tv.....

I've already purchased the parts for the ventilation system, probably quite a bit over spec, and I'm currently looking for a decent air cleaner.

And if I find that I start enjoying the cigars more than I enjoy having guests staying over, I guess I'll just tear down the new wall :D

Welp, so much for trying to keep things to a reasonable level. I've made a 180 and decided to NOT divide the room after all. So it will be big
Wow, the willpower of this guy huh.... :D

Anything else I might not have thought about that you really appreciate about your cigar lounges, or wish that you had?

Where’s the nearest bathroom in the house? Sounds ridiculous but if you have the lines nearby, building a tiny WC into the setup/nearby can be fantastic compared to trudging through the house

That's a VERY good point!
Today, I only have one bathroom, which is on the first floor. Lounge will be on the second floor. So that's a bit unfortunate, but there are plans to build a bathroom on the second floor as well. I'll get to that project a bit later when there are funds for it :)
So the second floor will be Poker room, lounge, bathroom, and a guest room + storage room. And a corner for the Holy Hot Dog Roller, of course :D

I hate to talk about going big- but once you get into cigars, the need for cigar storage increase significantly. Beyond what you reasonably think you will ever need. Just like chipping, 10 sets is not enough, you will get 11, 12 13, and then you will have 3 tournaments sets, and you don't even play tournaments. :)

If you drink (well I heard some cigar smokers do not drink, although I have never met one), an ice maker or access to ice in the room, nothing worse than having to leave the room and leave your cigar to get ice.

Haha, I've noticed.... A while ago I bought a humidor that's a lot bigger than what I thought I needed. A few months later, I need at least another of the same size :D
With that in mind, I'm planning to build an comically over-sized humidor.

Good point on the ice maker. Definitely getting one of those! :)
Great suggestions, many thanks!

A friend just took a small refrigerator, think it's a wine cooler thing, sealed it up so moisture doesn't escape and dumped in a small load of Boveda packs, some sensors and uses that as his humidor now.

Perdomo 10th Anniversary Maduro. Very solid, and enjoyable.

Anyone want these? Just pay shipping. Can split into two lots if one person wants the butlers and someone else wants the hydrometers

My brother gave me this extra viejo land shark a while back. Love the short stories, works of art, opus x, etc, just hadn't had one of these. It was exceptional. Might be the best Fuente I've had.

Not a hot take, but that's what I got.View attachment 1594624
These are incredible
