My first car was a 1982 280zx.

My dream car would be a 240 x Fair Lady or this beautiful 240 that was recently for sale locally and I had just bought the Honda

Stupid me… go and becoming an adult… farewell mid life crisis car… what I got instead, at least it’s a 6 speed.

80% of that is the SP2 to the left and 20% is the SF90XX on the right.
He also said all of the vintage ones in a row in my middle picture were all owned by 1 person. I can’t even comprehend that…

Just ordered the Tesla replacement, should arrive October / November. Very excited for it. The test drive was a blast. Yes the simulated engine noise is a bit digital, but the handling and 'gear shifting' gives incredible feedback when you are pushing on.

Looks really good. I would love to get a c63 some day, there's a white 2019 for sale here in Tulsa right now. Very tempting...
The 63s are really nice with all that extra HP and torque. Depending on the mileage and year, they can run 12-20k more than the 43s.

Sweet rides though

Picked up this 2017 Mercedes C43 AMG about a year and a half ago with 16500 miles on the odometer.
It’s my daily commuter and is really fun to drive. View attachment 1543353View attachment 1543354
Looks good sitting in the garage as well. ;) :ROFLMAO:View attachment 1543351View attachment 1543352

What are your thoughts so far on reliability and maintenance costs? I'm planning on adding a sporty vehicle to my garage within the next year or so. The AMG C43 coupe is on my short list, along with some Jap sport coupes that I know are considered more reliable. I'm sure I'll look at Mustangs also, though probably not the Shelby.

i used to have a e55 amg back when they were still handbuilt. The engines and trans are bulletproof. I had zero problems with my car. My friend has a C63 he tuned and he used to autocross. He too has had zero problems. Besides basic maintinence, they are very dependable.

look at how many older model amgs are still on the road. They're everywhere...so they must be dependable

I purchased the vehicle from CarMax in January of 24 and have been really happy with it up to this point.
I have put about 21000 miles on the car since purchase, ( this includes a road trip from Texas to Virginia and back) so far I have only done scheduled routine maintenance and replaced two front tires.

Mercedes claims the vehicle can go 10000 miles between oil changes. I have them done every 5000 just because.
There isn’t a Mercedes dealership near me. I have a highly recommended local shop perform the work and they charge me $150 for an oil change.

That’s 7 quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic, new filter, top off any other liquids plus labor.
Also had a routine brake service done at 35000 miles where they inspected the entire system and replaced the old brake fluid with new. Cost was $260.

Cost for two new Continental run flat performance tires was about $300 per tire mounted and balanced.
The tires on this vehicle can’t be rotated, they are wider in the rear than in front.
Depending on your driving habits, I’d say you can get about 25-30k miles or so on a set.

The vehicle requires 91 octane fuel or higher. I fill up regularly at a local Sunoco station that sells 91 octane non ethanol at $3.59 per gallon. The vehicle averages 31.5 mpg when I use this fuel. Pretty good I think for a twin turbo all wheel drive vehicle with 370 hp.
When I’ve been out of town and had to fill up with higher priced 91 octane that has ethanol, it lowers my mpg to about 25 on average.

My personal opinion of the vehicle is……I LOVE IT. It’s very fun to drive and I would purchase the car again. Maybe next time opting for the 63 V8 version.
I originally had been looking at a new Camry XSE V6 when I stumbled upon this vehicle with very low miles for about 5k less than the Camry.
Thus far I don’t regret my decision. ;) If you can find a well maintained low miles C43, I’d give it a look and a test drive.

I did purchase a 5 year 100000 mile warranty for the vehicle from CarMax for $2800. Just wanted to be cautious being the vehicle was used.
Total price was still a few thousand less than the Camry.

Best on the vehicle hunt @TX_Golf_N_Poker

So this vehicle is going on my WANT list! :ROFLMAO:
I got to go for a ride in this modified 2017 Shelby GT350 last Saturday evening. All I can say is this car is SHIT YOUR PANTS FAST!
If you like the looks of million dollar exotics in your rear view mirror @DirtyTIVA,;) :ROFLMAO: this baby right here will do the trick.

No comparison @joeyshin. :ROFLMAO: That 2017 Shelby puts down 1100hp at the rear wheels and is low 10s in the quarter. ;)
It’s a SICK SICK street machine!

AMG motors are generally considered pretty solid. Some are better than others of course, but I’d put a real AMG motor above an Audi or BMW motor for reliability.

It’s German and you’re in TX, so yeah - it’s gonna be more expansive - lol. When I was in VA there were hundreds of German car specialists shops and 10 between work and home. Not so much here in Dallas, so they all think they’re uber special and charge accordingly.

Ya know different flavor, but the Cadillac CT5 V Blackwing has been catching my eye lately.

The CT4 v blackwing is pretty ridiculous for the price as well. The aftermarket and tuning options are abundant (similar to the Shelby Mustangs). They are already fast and it doesn’t take much to make them stupid fast!

But here is the car I really want

Yessir - they are so damn sexy and mean at the same time!

The VW Golf R wagon is pretty damn sweet as well (definitely not the same car though - lol). They don’t sell them here b/c we only want school buses (sigh)

Definitely not the RS6, but 1/2 the cost and pretty sweet.

I had no idea this existed. Now I’m sad that they don’t sell them here. The Golf R was on my short list for my next car, but my family outgrew it before it was even a possibility.

Me too, I tried everything to get one. Even reached out to VW/Audi US HQ like 20 times - lol. You can buy one in Germany, you just can’t import it to the U.S and VW wont certify it for the U.S..

Personally, I think they’d sell a lot of them. It’s the only enthusiast alternative to the $130k “super wagons”.

Hoping one day they offer it in Canada, then we could get one 😎.

I just have to wait out my kids growing out of car seats, I don’t care too much about their personal space at that point  :ROFLMAO:

I’ve been driving a Chrysler 300 for almost 5 years now and I’m a small car guy at heart. I gave up my GTI to be able to fit 3 car seats in the back.

The Canada angle is a pretty good idea if they make it over there. I’ll be watching, but not holding my breath.
