Good afternoon,

I was wondering if anyone has ever gotten WTHC fakes / replicas before and could share some pictures or information about them?

I personally have a set of these awesome chips but sometimes colours are different or weights within the same denom differs slightly.

Thank you for your help!

Sorry about the misunderstanding: I do not own any, I am just curious how to differentiate them!

In any case, color difference and weight can vary based on what production run it was as they were made over several years as stated by @TheRealTeddyKGB above.

Color can also change over time due to other factors, dirt, method of storage, exposure to light, cleaning solutions, oil, etc.

Weight may be a little harder to drastically change but could shed a little based on condition and clay/texture wearing away, etc.

Easiest way to tell would be to ask the community here with clear pictures and examples. Best of luck with whatever you need this information for!

Yes, $1s, $500s can have different hues. Also, the $5K has a lighter version of the metallic silver versus a darker shade. Looking for a barrel of the lighter shade 5K version if anyone has one...different shades not indicative of fake chips.

Sorry I meant that I own a set of the original WTHC chips. I was just curious if there is fakes circulating and if yes how they look / feel like so I can be sure to buy originals in the future.

I am also searching for 1s and 5s if anyone has some spare!

Apparently my English is too bad. Let me try again:

1) I do not own any fake WTHC, I am curious if there is any and if yes how do they look like or feel like compared to original ones?

2) I own a set of original WTHCs and want to further expand this set. I am missing 1s and 5s if anyone has some to sell I will be very happy.

3) Thank you all for your answers and insights, I appreciate your help!

No, there are no fakes. At least nothing that you would not immediately be able to tell that they are fakes, like ceramic chips printed to look the same.

Regarding fakes...

I don't know if there are counterfeit chips, but there are definitely those plastic "top hat no cane" chips out there. Do be aware of those; they can look a little similar to Paulsons at a glance.

In any market you always must be careful of counterfeits and fakes

You can make wanted ad for the $1's and $5's. Someone here probably has some lying around.

I already did couple of days ago but sadly not a single reply so far..
It might take awhile but this is the place you'll definitely shake some free. Not many more places to look other than eBay. Posting pictures of your set will probably help you. A lot of the old users on here are afraid of people trying to get chips just so they can sell them at a profit down the road. Welcome to the poker chip game. I hope you get your chips.

I think that OP is mainly asking if fakes exist for WTHC chips, given that they are pretty high value.

As @mipevi said, there are NO KNOWN FAKES, and if there are, they would be readily apparent if you had ever handled WTHC chips (or Paulson chips) at all. The only thing that may possibly come close (in photos) are ceramic chips, but again, once you see them in hand (or scrutinize the photos), the differences will be very apparent.

If you can make convincing compression molded Paulson fakes that feel like the real thing, you might just be in business to sell those chips, no need to make fakes.
