This was my mixed set before @Rhodeman77 visited and took my Empress $100s in addition to a few thousand dollars, from what I recall. :(

Mike,

With @BearMetal moving on to other chips, and passing the Empress $5s, I'd like to be considered for them.

I know Mac128k wants them, but so do I.

As well, I understand you have to make a choice, and I really wouldn't take it personally either way. They are, ultimately, just chips.

I would however, not resell them since my Empress cash set is my primary cash set. As well, no shipping required. I can pick them up, or wait to get them til the virus issue is cleared up..

When I first joined, I bought and sold chips, but I haven't made a dime. I've lost money with the fees and shipping costs I've eaten to make sales fly. You know how hard it is to be a Canadian chipper.

I'm a new chipper and I've paid market prices for everything I got. No Chiproom deals or GBs here.

I'll be waiting for your decision with excitement either way. At least a great chipper will be getting them anyway.

I don't know how to convince anyone that I am a more worthy recipient of the Empress $100 rack but I'll say this:

I've been slowly accumulating barrels of hundos as an ongoing project similar to @allforcharity's BOLO project.

I had a barrel of Empress $100s a while back and I regret releasing them.

So I'll say this - if you'll sell me the entire rack, I'll keep a barrel for myself and sell the other 4 barrels to 4 different state-side PCFers at cost. This will allow you the simplicity of only having to ship to one address - hopefully that makes life a little easier for you. If this works for you, let me know.

Shall I hold the funds or just move on...

That is the question in my mind.:nailbite:

@Racer96 ,if you've privately sold them Empress $5s, thanks for making them available to begin with at a great price. Such cool chips rarely sold or seen in my first year here. @Frank was kind enough to hook me up with the $5s I do have...mine are also mint, and these would join up beautifully with their siblings.

If they are still available, I'm ready to take em'

Let me know about payment details...:D

OP has been edited to list the people that have shown interest, I will be trying to make the final decision late tonight. I really didn't think these sales through, I hate being the bad guy, and of course, these sales make me the bad guy, lol.

You could just do a random drawing to avoid being the bad guy.

This is the thread that I dreaded coming back to the most. If you noticed, I cleared up (somewhat) all the other sales threads first.

I wanted to post a little bit of info here first.
I spoke with a local chipper, and got his advice on shipping chips to the US from Canada. He said to estimate that $23 would cover the cost of shipping. I can either do that and ship later this week, or you can wait until the border opens back up, and I can drive down to ship the chips out from WA state.

Now, if that scares you off, please say so!

The first decision was fairly easy.
Aztar $25 chips. When I read through @mtl mile end 's post, I saw a bit of an out. I contacted him, because while pulling racks of chips, I came across another 2 barrels of these chips. I worked out a price for him, and he's ok with it.
SO @SteveHNo96 , you're up on the rack (that's 100) of Aztar $25 chips. I'll be sending a PM shortly, but first a little bit of info.
I've seen you post about your likes and dislikes of chips, and that is fine. Everyone has their own taste in things, and that's good! However, I would really like to advise you to take some more time and read through the site. Try to learn more about the terminology, as well as the different types of chips. I like everything. Hell, I have everything. From cheap slugged chips, nearly every CPC/ASM mold, BCC, Paulson, ceramic, Bud Jones, BG, Matsui, Abbiatti, china clay, TRK, you name it, I have at least some of it. And I love them all in different ways.
One really big thing that I saw you comment on , was how you didn't like that Paulson chips had uneven lengths of spots (or edge paint , I think you called it) Please note that compressed clay chips (Paulson, BCC, TRK, ASM, CPC, and others) are made by hand. Those edge paint, are actually little pieces of clay, that have been notched out of a blank disc, and then inserted into a notch of another blank disc. They are then compressed and heated. This really is an art form. They are not just painted on by machine , as a ceramic chip would be (that's a whole different kind of art form!)
Anyways, yeah, I type a lot. Do you still want the chips?

The Empress $5 chips and $100 chip are a much harder thing. I only have one rack of each. I know a whole bunch of people are going to be sad/upset/angry about not getting the chance to purchase (and probably a bunch of people will just be like, "meh, oh well, on to the next listing!") So, I'm going to do the same thing that I posted in the PNY suits mold quarters.

I would like everybody to pm me with their favourite NLHE hand. Including suits. I will then run out a board, and see who has the BEST NLHE hand, and who has the BEST RAZZ hand. I will then put those two (or more in case of ties) people into a separate list. If I don't hear back from anyone by the time I do this (most likely mid afternoon, Monday the 30th), I will randomly choose two cards for the people that don't reply. ONE CAVEAT, your hand CAN NOT be a pocket pair. I don't want everyone to send me pocket aces, ok? :)
I do realize that people could end up having a shared card (or even a shared hand) in the case of a tie.
From the separate list I will pull 4 random cards for each person and run out an omaha high hand.

Quite honestly, I tried to just choose two people, but everyone on the lists has a reason for wanting these chips, and I would love to see them go to each of you. So yeah, I suck. Anyways, good luck!

I would like to clear the air a tad before I answer.

1. I actually would like to get a set of Paulson THC's in order to see the difference in quality. As a matter of fact, the custom set I am working on will, at the rate things are going either be on CPC/ASM's, THC's, Sunfly 43 Hybrids or CPC 43 hybrids. If I go CPC/ASM clays, I may put them on solids to save money although quarter-pie looks pretty damn neat.

in fact, I want chip experts to make this the best set it can be, so I welcome feedback here. (in other words, you are free to go on and chip in)

https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/idea-but-may-take-some-work.54211/page-2

2. I heard the chips being called "edge paint" and figured paint was an acceptable slang term so I just ran with the term "edge paint".

As I stated to most of the people who know me, my friends are not chip collectors, they are metalheads. If they come over and want to play, they might bring $20 or so and drink beer or soda and discuss albums while playing. The chip designs for things like Wicked Spades and Dia De Los Muertos has gotten me a ton of praise. The first for looking like a heavy metal album cover, the latter because the designs are powerful and colorful. If I bring in classic designs, they can work but only if the chips "pop", and grab attention the same way these guys do. Me personally, I'm a 47 year old guy who has a BFF who is 19. That gives you an idea of how flashy I like my chips to look.

@sheikh617's "Beantown" chips are a perfect example of a chip I would like, it's bright, vivid and powerful, both the inlay and the chip itself.

If they looked at the Gulfport's, they would use them but then when they found out how much I paid for them, they'd be all "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?". I like the stripes but the font was boring and the back design of a pot of gold didn't look like gold on my phone. I understand that's not a design flaw: Authentic metallic gold and metallic silver are tough to do on a chip (or any physical media for that matter).

In fact, Midnight's Casino (my first custom set) is striving for a balance between the flashy and powerful designs that my friends applaud me for and the apparently more traditional sets that appeal to TPTB here. I want to learn more about "clay chips" and how they work since most people here hate ceramics. (I quite like them, actually, and will be doing some comparison pr0n next week)

3. When I first signed in in 2016, the Casino Aztar MO's were the first ones I shot for a set of. So yes. Give me a price and I should be able to buy them.

If this is TL;DR: I'll find a way to break it up.

It's all good. Honestly, I could see the enthusiasm you have, and how eager you are to jump into things, but you're just lacking in some bits of info, that's all I was trying to help out with.
And yes, I'm pretty sure that everybody on this site plays with people that a) have no clue how much these chips are worth. and b) would probably shit themselves if they knew that the 25c chip they just threw into the pot cost over $6 a chip. It's just the way things are.
Just like how I stated that I like all chips, I like so many design styles as well. Be it flashy or simple. Agressive and out there, or quiet and hidden. I'm kind of like that with everything I guess, including music. (Was never a metalhead, but did like some of the stuff,,,,, pantera, motorhead, slayer, sabbath,,,,,,,)

Also, be forewarned, if you're looking at ordering custom chips from CPC, the wait times (depending on the mold) can possibly be over a year. It could also be a month, if the mold happens to be in rotation. It's not the same as a ceramic that gets printed, and can be ready in less than a week!

The price on the rack was posted in the thread, it's $185.

I apologize if it came across as lecturing, I did not intend it to be that way. Just trying to give some friendly helpful advice.

Mike

edited to add: PS, don't worry about it being too long to read. I write a lot, and I can read a lot too, lol. So long as there is some semblance of punctuation and grammar, so that my head doesn't implode, I'm good.

Ok, first up is the Empress $5 chips. In the end we were down to just four people competing for the rack. And only 3 people sent me their hole cards, so I picked random cards for balanar. To not totally handicap his hand, I decided that the first card I drew would stand, and the second card would match the suit of the first, regardless of what suit it actually was.

So here’s the hands:
D54744A8-6024-42D7-AF2A-6356AA221741.jpeg

And the flop:
ED82C59B-960D-41DB-8E81-577CEA91D0AA.jpeg

Kind of interesting. Back door flush draw vs middle pair vs top pair vs top pair.

The turn is kinda boring. Why couldn’t anyone have had diamonds? Someone fire the scriptwriter. We need re-writes.
42F87396-74E2-42F0-A6D2-6571505B63A9.jpeg

And the river:
B8A2BE88-8F4B-4417-9287-86F0744D5CD7.jpeg

Which is actually really interesting. It not only gave the underdog the win, it actually matched suits with the hole cards. Live poker confirmed totally rigged. Oh jokerstars.
So the high hand goes to mac128k with 2 pair, and the razz hand goes to anthony ferguson with a 9,7,5,2,A

Anyways, now I had to set out the two omaha hands. Hands are set up in alphabetical order, so anthony on the left and mac on the right:

The flop:

And the river:

Congrats to @Mac128k with the winning hand, trip kings.

Haha wow! I was such a dog to start on the Omaha hand. What fun this was!

And finally the Empress $100 rack.
10 contestants entered.
5 sent me their hands.
5 did not.
Unlike the $5 drawing, I decided to let the people that sent me their hands have a slight (suited) advantage. The others would let fate decide their cards completely...........

So, here’s the starting hands.
0F0DD4EA-4FD2-40E5-99FC-A53E373D7F5D.jpeg

Interestingly (to me anyways) none of the 5 random hands drew suited cards. They were all somewhat connected at least.
Oh, and dmack’s cards initially actually would have been pocket queens, but I redrew the second card.

The flop:
36EBA1D9-6DBB-4279-B085-D3ED6C80A7B7.jpeg

Kind of interesting. At this point, if I was in hornet’s shoes, I might shove. Of course, if I was in hornet’s shoes, I’d also know that I could rebuy. Which is probably why I am not in hornet’s shoes.

The turn:
76756F76-6247-4DD8-8AD2-DB74053CFA3E.jpeg

Well, now things get really interesting.
Look at all those draws out there.
At this point, I think only 2 people are drawing dead? I can’t really remember. I’m typing on my phone and can barely see what the thumbnails are.

And the river:
C4F2A4D6-2448-4A2C-87AF-A33A89FF84F5.jpeg

Runner runner flush, with UnicornFlash’s queen high taking it over the jack high.
And hornet makes the wheel for the razz hand. He did tell me that he doesn’t really play NLHE anymore.

So now we have Hornet vs UnicornFlash in an omaha hand:
63BB8B65-3998-48AF-8477-9B5794B68ED8.jpeg

Again the hands are in alphabetical order, hornet on left and unicorn on right.

The flop:
F1D5F1B1-5404-4100-A990-FC89FC2BEE17.jpeg

Well, that doesn’t look god for unicorn. Needs runner runner again.

The turn:
11E578EE-5801-4D6A-AC70-B06BC8F894F1.jpeg

Well, it’s not the best card for unicorn, but it’s not the worst either. At least the dream is still alive.

And the river:
1E78397B-9081-4C22-A693-3578580035CA.jpeg

Ok, the dream died. Sorry Unicorn :( I know you said this was the first time you ever got first dibs on a sales thread, so that sucks....... but at least you didn’t use your “one time!” yet.

Congrats to @Hornet with a higher 2 pair.
