Howdy, hello, and good evening.

I started playing Texas hold ‘em when I was ten years old at my grandparent’s motel, the lobby of which also served as the house. The dining room table could be flipped to reveal a beautiful black felt poker table. I loved the clicking and clacking of the chips and have fond memories of knocking over towers of chips when a hand didn’t go my way!

Fast forward to now, I’m 23 years old, and still loving poker. After some casino visits and some online poker, I’ve realized that-for me-what makes poker POKER are those curious little chips, but the only chips I’ve ever owned or played with in a home game are the dreaded dice chips.

It got me thinking the other day, and I dove into a black hole. I found this community, impulse bought 500 China clays, and obviously they aren’t doing anything for me after seeing pictures on this site. I’ve included a pic of my new set, and I’m happy to be a new member of this community!

Welcome! Have a three-way (no onions) and a couple cheese coneys for me. I miss my Cincy favorites!

Welcome! As a new member myself, I did exactly what you did, purchased a milano set (nearly the exact same set), and then realized almost immediately, that I should’ve just concentrated on building an ideal set and one that i’ll appreciate. I returned my milanos but kept my NexGens (actually like these as an affordable alternative). And since then, I’ve been building my first ideal set with the help of some great PCFers here! (all within the last month! Haha)
It’s an awesome community, and people here are more than willing to help.

My family and friends are more used to playing tournaments, so for now I’m looking for a tournament set!

Enjoy your searching, and take your time. In general cash sets come up for sale a little more often than tournament ones, but there's plenty of opportunities if you keep your eyes and ears open.

If you've got a pile of cash burning a hole in your pocket, and you've got lightning fast internet access, there's some real casino tournament sets (solid colour Paulson clays) on sale at @TheChipRoom 's sale tomorrow at 11am Pacific/2pm Eastern. But you'll be competing with the whole forum, so good luck to you if you decide to try and snag one of them!

Welcome from another poker and chip lover (like the rest of us here  )
Enjoy the pr0n and have no fear the paulsons will soon be flowing in your house  :ROFLMAO:

Same boat haha. I think I'll keep most of mine though because I can't afford a full set of Paulsons
