Paulson Premium Décor Ring (2 Viewers)

Guys, there’s a cheaper way to do this. Think, how did the CCGTCC get Paulson chips made to commemorate their annual poker tournaments?

All we need to do is book a private event at a casino that includes a poker tournament, say… the first annual PCF get-together? Tell the casino/hotel we need custom chips made for the event and book a hall with a couple of poker tables for the tournament.

We can submit the chip designs to the casino and they will get new chips made for us. At the end of the event, they will give the chips back to us AT COST. These chips are no use to them, and they are not live casino chips that need to be destroyed.

THIS

I will be there and am in for a minimum of 1000 chipes.

HQ tried this about 6 years ago with the Sin City Showdown over at CT. No luck...but he may be able to shed some light on what went wrong that could potentially be fixed.

Maybe we have to find the right casino that would do this for us...

HQ had a casino willing, I believe there were problems at the GPI end of the deal. I'm in for some chips if the magic happens but I wouldn't ever get my hopes up until it's order and deposit time. And even then, orders and deposits were in and taken for the Sin City chips.

Just need someone involved heavily with some type of Charity, organize Charity event in a Casino room, wam bam thank you mam
I'm an officer on a NFP board. Not sure they would go for a gambling event but I did just get a box of dice chips for them so maybe they would consider it.

Casino license for a day vs. GPI buy-out?

GPI market cap is only ~$80MM, and given what gets spent on chips around here and the price they're currently getting in the market, we might not be too far off it (GPI has spent most of the last few years at ~$65MM). $80MM - $65MM market cap is probably in the order of 40,000,000 - 33,000,000 chips. Group buy?
And Majority ownership is only half that. Plus we could attend the annual meeting as a meet-up. Vote to change company policy regarding non-casino purchases then retire to the hotel ballroom for poker. :)

Yea so that was this year's GPI G2E convention chip... very nice.

From what I've heard, those were tough to get even at the convention.

I thought about it but I think the price is going to go berserker so I'll probably stay away. Look how many bids it had on the FIRST day!!!

I'll bet you $500 that it goes for at least $250.

And I'll bet you another $500 that I can get you betting by the end of the day.

Offer only good until 11:59pm

I think $30 is way low, especially for the first one listed. Maybe for the 10th one in a couple of months.....

I lot of speculation here about final price, but the question remains - do I bid (and then take it to PCF meet-ups), or is another PCF'er looking to do the same? I certainly don't wish to jack up the price unnecessarily.

Not until my contact dies... but the process was neatly outlined.

But how did Los Vatos Locos get all the remaining Tropicana chips...?

How? Would you say no to these guys?

Wow, anybody here win this? I wasn't even paying attention yesterday and it ended at only $21.50 + $2.54 shipping. Dammit...

My impression was that this was a very small lot that was produced and it took a lot of work to pry them off the hands of the GPI salesmen at the convention, so that was a pretty good price.

The more I see these chips with the gold lace the more I want them. I'm not giving up my search through my resources, I will get them through hell or high water! Ok not that extreme... I will just need to open my wallet.

I won that auction and can't wait to get the chip this week. I thought the price was pretty fair - that was my high bid too, another bid would have taken it. This will be put into an airtite for my new card marker.

I drove up the price because nobody here appeared to want it. I wasn't willing to put up more than $20 though, because I would have only taken it around to meet-ups so others could lay eyes on it.

I'm glad it stayed in the community, sorry you paid more than necessary.

I just made a stab at it but honestly was stunned I won the auction. I will keep this for a long time but hope against the odds that we would all have a chance at getting some of these made in the future.

I don’t think that’s necessarily true, there were a ton of other bidders too, so your bid price could have just usurped their pending bids.

Congrats on winning the auction, it’s a fantastic looking chip!

There really weren't a lot of bids, which was surprising. The $21 price-tag was still a good deal on a rare(?) chip, but I don't collect rare/unplayable chips, so I kept my bid relatively low just to get it into this community. I made posts #39 and #44 (above) so no PCFer would have to pay more than necessary, so as the deal was closing (I didn't snipe, just a last minute bid) I made my max offer.

It's a nice looking chip though. All I need is 800 of them... and custom inlays.

I’m sure there are plenty of people from CT or PCF who would have paid more than the ending price, if they were paying attention.

The guy who listed the chip is a CCGTCC member who originally posted the image on the chip board. My observation from this listing is that whereas us PCF members love and value the design/quality/make of chips, the CCGTCC crowd is more of a history/value kind, where they would happily pay $300 for an tattered looking plain jane hostamped small greek key mold chip but not more than $10 for manufacturer samples with no history, no matter how good it looks.

So this is the GPI ad. for the premium line of chips, and those are the 4 sample chips, (2) 39mm and (2) 43mm.

Ok. I got the chip. The weirdest chip Ive ever felt. Clay on the outer and inner circle, feels like plastic on the other areas. Truly a hybrid. It's like the clay makes recesses where the plastic can be poured and filled.

That's the best I can describe. I'll try for close ups over the weekend.

So... yea, I finally completed my quest on getting these chips. These are probably the most beautiful chips I've ever seen. You'd have to appreciate jetons to know how exquisite these things are (The gold lace inside the jetons are in itself a proprietary process). It's really tough to make, and are only intended for higher denom casino chips.

Having handled some of them now, I really think this chip is a winner.

I've got some fantastic pr0n ready to go. I was going to post later but I don't want to steal BPTDirector's thunder... it can wait (y)
