Wow never had anything like that with claim stakes, lakeshores, or Tropicana’s. Were Fitzgerald’s hotstamps beat up already?I put 1 of my Fitzgerald quarters in for 1min as a test and my stamp was seriously degraded. Real tsp. 40C. 1min.

Ahh yeah I was using Lundmark which advertises at TSP but is actually Sodium Meta-Silicate so maybe that's it?No. It was a really good condition stamp. Chip was a little dirty. Edge was very dirty. Was hoping I could forgo the magic eraser. Just did 1 as a test at the end of a cleaning session. I had it in the salad spinner with about 10 chips. Very slow rotation. Maybe it was the real tsp? Maybe 40C was too warm? Maybe it was the spinner? Maybe Fitzs stamps are thin? Stamp is still there but noticeably much duller. .....That is why we test first.
wow I feel like a d!ck, somehow I didn't realize this was an auction thread once I was getting to it through my Alerts feed. My apologies! Here's the amazing chips again from the OP pic!I'll get us back on track here.
$1,900.
Sorry you ruined your Fitz hot stamps. I cleaned 3 racks of Fitz metallic gold hot stamps with no damage at all.I put 1 of my Fitzgerald quarters in for 1min as a test and my stamp was seriously degraded. Real tsp. 40C. 1min.
Feel free to run the experiment but I can tell you from experience that the Lundmark fake TSP is more important to the cleaning than the ultrasonic action. That said, the ultrasonic action is still quite important to reduce cleaning time, and exposure to the fake TSP.I suspect the ultra sonic cleaning action does more to remove the hotstamp than the sodium metasilicate chemical in “tsp”. I am not a chemist, though. Perhaps this calls for an experiment?

Not saying it can’t be improved, but all the things I wrote in the ultrasonic cleaning topic, I wrote for a reason. The type of u/s cleaner, the distilled water, the temperatures, the times, AND the Lundmark fake TSP (really sodium metasilicate).
If you’d stayed away from real trisodium phosphate, your hot stamps would have been fine.
any chance your in Dallas?Anyone want to go in halves on the price and keep the chips alternate months?
Oooo so close. Houston - ha!any chance your in Dallas?
Dammmm... what a way to start! It's my first. Just starting this adventure.
