I'm in the apparent minority of folks here who dig oversized inlays, and three of my favorite playable Paulson sets feature them: PNYs, San Juan Ritz, and Bahamias.

So even though the Gemaco promo chip white edge spots leave something to be desired (solids would be better IMO), the base colors, feel, price and ability to use oversize labels make them an enticing choice for a custom set.

I posted a PNY style homage a few months back, and got some good criticism which led me to put the brakes on that project and go for something less derivative.

So here's a set for the (fictional) Overlook Hotel & Casino, with a nod to the San Juan Ritz style. Love to hear your thoughts!

Not a fan of photo inlays in general, but they actually might work pretty well for the Gemaco chips with oversize inlays.

One issue with common-spot-color chips as well as giant inlays is making each chip face easily identifiable by color, which typically means using some type of color-matching on the inlay (text, image, denom, etc.) to help distinguish each denomination visually at first glance. Your 25c, $1, $25, and $100 chip photos do this pretty well, but the $5, $20, and $500 chips leave a lot to be desired in this regard. The yellow denom on red $5 chip and red denom on the yellow $20 chip is particularly confusing, as are the inconsistent text colors across all chips.

I'd either standardize the denomination color, or match it to the chip base color. Same for the text color. I'd also try to find/design some images for the $5, $20, and $500 chips that better match the base chip color scheme. Sunset pics can help with the red and yellow chips, and a mountain range or something similar might work for the purple $500.

Interesting concept, and one that might really pan out with the Gemaco chips. Good luck!

Grmaco won't make them with the '$' though...

And FWIW, the maze only exists in the movie.

Cool concept, though.

Dunno, I've never seen a currency symbol restriction listed in print. But they're certainly making them.
