Not sure how I'd get these made, wrote to Gemaco and they said they only do business with promotional items companies.

As much as I don't like the large white edge spots on the Gemaco promo chips, the chips themselves have a good feel and are the only option that comes to mind for an oversize inlay design a la the PNYs. And the price can't be beat.

Thoughts on the design?

Good Idea, the font's strokes need to be reworked to certain extent. The photos needs to be higher resolution. Oh, just in case if no currency symbols allowed, make it similar to the Elites, .25, 1, 5, 20, 25, 100, 500, 1000, 5000, 25000.

1. Same pfugly images as PNYs (except for the $1s and $25s), so might run into copyright or trademark issues there.

2. Vanderbilt Hotel chips, but none with an image of the historic Vanderbilt Hotel?

3. Possibility of legal complications with either the Vanderbilt family or the existing Vanderbilt YMCA Hotel.

Maybe somewhere else in New York, like Brooklyn, or Queens?

If you like the PNY's than I would say you did well. I like the idea of doing a different city though.

Good points! The name and photos are all up for reconsideration. I mocked them up to look as much like the PNYs as possible just so I had a reference.

I had the same thought, originally. Specifically, I thought about doing a New Orleans fantasy casino using the CPC FDL mold. But I ran into a few challenges:
1. I'm not from New Orleans and don't have an idea of more than a couple iconic landmarks
2. The CPC set would be a lot pricier, and
3. I could get large-ish, but not oversized labels

This was my mockup (just chips/spots):

Thanks for the tips! This is my first stab using Illustrator, but my brother is a graphic designer and would go over the inlay before anything final :)

I also love the giant inlay PNY's. Probably my only chip set selling regret. I could always re buy them, but I took a loss when I sold them. I can't in principle purchase them back at a higher rate. Live and learn I guess.

My next option was to do what you suggested, but with the city of Detroit. After thinking about it, I didn't think I would be happy with it due to the exact things that you mentioned. Plus, I don't want three cpc sets.
