How many orbits an hour does your limit game make? Fastest will do if it varies.

I picked up a lovely 700 flower mold chip set for a limit game. They’re stamped with $1, so I figured it would be best to use them as $1.

With 7 folks, I figure I could make a $2/$4 game work, with some help.

I’m really targeting a $1/$2 game using a 1 chip/2 chip approach with a twist. In addition to a rack of $1s, I’ll issue a barrel of 50¢ chips for the small blind.

Looking at: HORSE, maybe try Scrotum and some other circus games. Casual game with socializing.

Irish’s mixed limit set is amazing and inspired me. I have 7 different barrels, and with them, figure we can track how many games were won, and see if there’s any pattern based on position.

So, assuming every small blind calls completes the bet (at least), we can get 10 orbits. Now I’m trying to figure out how long that will get me, time wise.

(I’m contemplating a mixed-spot concept for a custom limit set to replace this one once I dial in my higher-limit limit game.)

Edits:
Pron (value chip not included- not sure if I use my existing $5 or $20). Correctly identified Irish’s set (not upNdown). Added games I’m looking to play.

We will refuse to answer your questions until you post pictures of your flower mold chips. :)

It depends. Are we playing 2-7 Triple Draw, Scarney 8, SOHE, SHESHE, double board 5-card Omaha, . . . You get the idea. My experience is that some games play fast and others take longer. It also depends on the players.

I took some liberties in my answer of two. I’m considering my eight game mix. We do an orbit per game... we play for eight hours... we usually get through each game twice... and then a third round of the first two... so two orbits per hour... 16-20 orbits on the night.

Yeah, speed is the best feature of limit games.

Professional dealers can do 30+ hands an hour in hold'em. A home game passing two desks should probably be able to do 3 orbits.

Though the point about stud games playing a little slower is well taken if in the mix. Extra betting round of course.

Thanks for the replies. Poll tells me what I needed to know- I need more than a barrel of small blind chips to capture the number of potential orbits. On the hunt for the last 40....

as a professional dealer this definitely is grey area LOL.

Holdem 1-2 nl - your lucky to get 20+ if your table is noobs or have limit players playing
Holdem 2-4 limit- this is the dead rotation at a casino nobody wants this action table LOL. lucky to get 15 hands an hr
Holdem 2-5 limit- most casinos this is the dealers golden goose! avg 25+ hands hr/ loose players and noobs with money to throw around but no exp enough to play higher
Holdem 3-6,4-8 limit - semi good table less exp dealers who cant handle the fast paced high limit tables/ hands hr here doesn't equate.
Holdem 10-20 no limit and 25-50 this is a great table to deal if your players arnt pros (pros dont tip and and take forever to call/raise/fold) hands an hr here vary greatly also some high limit tables/rooms have a pay dealer at start of shift ie there favoirte dealer or most exp or the one they want them to deal, you get a large toke at beginning of the game and it covers your tips for whole night) watch poker after dark itll drive you crazy if your a dealer LOLOL.

in the end my favorite table is def 2/5nl tips per hr can get very lucrative if your nice dealer !
