Saw these come up locally. I currently play with an outlaw poker chip set for my cash game. These came up for $250 and are reported to be clay.

Denoms are:

200 25 cent
200 $1
600 $5
200 $25
100 $100

Just curious if anyone has played with these? How do they feel? Is this a very good deal? TIA

Look like the “Poker Knights” chips. Definitely not clay, rather plastic run of the mill chips that sell for roughly 25-35 cents each new.

Let’s put this in context

1. The previous posts are true
2. You are asking this on a chipping site so expect critical reviews.
3. These are what one would find in mid range to what’s considered nicer home games.
4. The poster is asking twice what you can get them for, and most likely knows exactly what he is doing.
5. Stick around, do some reading you’ll find where you land in the spectrum.
6. You’re only limited by your wallet and your willingness to do it harm.

All these things are true.
Welcome.

I noticed now that there were quite a few chips included in that deal. So for what they are (not clay), they’re probably worth that price, but there are way better options around and certainly above that price point.

I've played with these and agree with all of the above. If this is where your budget is at in order to play with denominated chips then go for it. At .22c each you cant go wrong and should be able to resell and break even. They do not feel like plastic chips, meaning there are worse options out there. I doubt you need a bank of over $18,000 so you could probably determine what your game needs and buy less chips and get a set of Tinas at .45c each for nearly the same price.

These are what the home game I play in back home use. Definitely not clay, but you can't go wrong getting 1300 chips for $250 - that's less than $0.20 / chip!
Honestly though, I can't imagine they're going to be an upgrade on Outlaws, so you're probably best saving your money and buying something a bit more premium.
Would love to hear which set you end up getting when you do upgrade

I would avoid these. I hate flashing on “affordable” chips like these. If you are concerned with price, check out the smooth Monte Carlo chips from The Poker Store.

Those are not clay. Those are 13.5g Claysmith chips called "Poker Knights". I have a sample set. They're ok. Not good, not bad, just ok...

They stack and feel much better than 11.5g dice chips. They're not nearly as slick. But, that 13.5g weight: 1) feels too heavy in hand, and 2) has that awful metal insert sound when you shuffle them. And the colors are an issue; they can be difficult to tell apart in low light.

ive played these..used to have a set of poker knights which are the same thing....they are really dark in color and in low lighting are hard to distinguish. They are heavy and they stack pretty good, but the dark colors made for a lot of dirty stacks.

Plus they have that weird thing with the bloody-poop reds. Just gross.

I had a set of these when I was between other sets. They are pretty much run of the mill sluggos. Can you play poker with them? Yes. But I agree with most of the earlier statements. The colors are not attractive. Your Outlaw chips are probably better. If you are going to spend money on new chips, make sure it is at least a modest upgrade from your current chips. These are not. And the price may seem attractive because it is cheap, but it is exactly what you can buy them for brand new.
