The GOAT asking for advice from the plebs!!!
I'm no help (as usual) - they all look awesome imo
The idea is ready! I'm sure Paulson can't wait to get my order of one rack of fracs in...make your own 43![]()
Not for me. Already threw in my two cents on the fracs, but the SB is as simple as it being more of a pastel-colored chip and not fitting the vibe of the rest of the set. The BTP's inserts are bold, as are the rest of the chips/colors in the set. The white/red combo has a fantastic contrast with the black chips, something I don't really see with the SB besides the base color itself. Is it correct to assume it's because of the coordination of the colors/spots of the frac and hundo?

Ha, pretty but walks too far from the earthier (textile?) tones for the rest of the set/theme IMO.

I don't see the earthy-tone set/theme as it stands. I still see bold, especially with a Canary workhorse with Blurple on it. Royal Red with greens on it contrast w/ the black and white upper denoms. The only consistent earthy tones are in chips that are, unironically, actively being replaced (inserts on the BTP frac and SB hundo). Of course, no sense arguing for a hypothetical chipHa, pretty but walks too far from the earthier (textile?) tones for the rest of the set/theme IMO.
The gold $20 actively offends me. How dare you lol.
Clear as day the set needs green balance. BTP black chip is a classy $20 for sure although some green on a chip here would help overall balance. If not here then somewhere like the hundo and frac. But $20/$25 with green would balance best. Assuming you are trying to use what you already have on hand though.
I don’t think gold $20 is the answer here at all though even with the green on it. And I don’t think the set feels earthy at all until Paulo throws in the fantasy red chip he mocked up.
I don’t disagree when it comes to the frac and also green being similar-ish family color to that blue of the $1.
Blaze is more similar to red too. I’d also personally rather go red or blaze frac and some green shade on the spots of the $20/25 than use the green BTP for the frac. I was only trying to work within the boundaries of chips you already mentioned here.
#teamnofrac so I vote for none. If I had to choose, A. I agree with @Rieguy, don't replace that $20, that charcoal bearclaw is already perfect (can I use this word?) in that lineup.
Totally agree. My (pretty poor) philsophy is to round out the bare minimum, playable core for my chip sets. So the frac will usually come in later. Once the $1-$100 is established, I can spend more time thinking about my fracs and $500s. If I try to fit in 6 custom chips all in the same set at the same time, my chipping brain usually explodes... That's why I currently don't have a custom set, LOL!Was just thinking about that since I'm dealing with this issue in another set. Don't necessarily disagree with no fracs but, been there done that... I've put together sets without fracs before but ultimately, ended up adding them later on. It's always the question of "why not?". So the set is there, why not make it more flexible, I guess... But I totally get it where you're coming from.
I have a set I'm working on I went even further and planned for nickels, lol!! Just in case my young nephews want to play super small... After labels were done, came to my senses and discarded the idea. Slippery slope...
