Opening a Card Room in Texas! (4 Viewers)

Sorry if I missed it in the thread, but do Texas card houses typically hand shuffle? No auto shufflers usually?

I went with an office chair with a tempur-pedic base. If u r interested I can give u the name of the staples commercial account rep I dealt with. I am sure u will get a discount for 40 chairs. I received a discount for buying 9. Also, shipping was super cheap. If I recall correctly, they Shipped all 9 chairs as 1 chair.

You are correct, the card houses typically do not have automatic shufflers, but casinos do have them. Both do as they do for self serving reasons. The casinos who charge a rake per hand want more hands so they employ shufflers to speed up the game. The card houses who charge by time want the game to be slow so people will play longer to win or lose their money, thus maximizing their revenue. They also avoid the expense of the card shufflers, so another bonus. TCH Dallas which is by far the most popular card house in the DFW area has tons of business and making money hand over fist doesn't do card shufflers. If TCH really wanted to serve its customers, they would get them. But what they are doing is working, so they don't. So I admire OPs goal of using card shufflers. I'm just soooooo far away from Corpus.

Isn't having in table shufflers AND bomb pots counter intuitive? In my experience any time savings you gain from an auto shuffler is immediately blow out the window with a table that does bomb pots.

I'm not really understanding the branding images you showed. The stylized "nobleman" image is going to be a terrible print image, and won't size well, and you also have a secondary image on the website header that shows the silhouette of noblemen, but you aren't using it for your actual logo? Either stick with the crown or go back to the drawing board.
I had this same thought about the website. That's a prime piece of branding real estate. While there's nothing wrong with the silhouettes, I would strongly advise against using any secondary logo in that spot on the website.

Was just experimenting with potential styles. All of that will be replaced with the work of someone actually skilled in design work.

Do any Texas cardrooms use Paulson chips? Since Texas cardrooms aren't "officially licensed" would Paulson even make chips for them?

Not all or even most of Texas blows, buddy.
Just some of the slime ball politicians looking for a little grease on their palms. Unfortunately, they’re everywhere.
House Bill 732, filed by Democratic Rep. Gene Wu, would address this loophole. Specifically, the bill would amend Texas Penal Code 47.04 to state that gambling must occur in a "private residence," delivering a blow to the legal protection that card room owners have used to defend their businesses.

Just like in the Brady bunch movie……. Problem solved…

Exactly! Buy a couple of acres of land, preferably in an unincorporated area of the county. Build a large "home." Carve out a couple thousand square feet for your main living area, then have a 4000 square foot "game room." Since it's a "private residence" I shouldn't even need to go to the trouble of getting a business license or paying any taxes. Nothing to see here Mr LEO. Just me and 400 of my closest buddies having a little poker get together... Yup, each one of them "voluntarily gifted me" $20-30 out of the goodness of their hearts, and sticks a few bucks in a tip jar every time they have a drink or grab a bite to eat. The is "definitely not" a business of any kind...
