After 4 years and over 100,000 chips oiled, it is finally time for a new bottle.
Definitely…Wow! I went through a bottle under 10k. I wonder if I’m using to much???
I go even lazier. I hold the barrel with one hand (top/bottom), and put a small dab of oil in the palm of my other hand and just grip & rotate the barrel until a good even but light coverage. Move through a barrel every 20 seconds or so, then wash hands at the end.Compression.

Grab a barrel of chips. While holding the stack, oil the edges with a cloth. Then wipe off each chip with a separate cloth.
Same result…and you’ll have a lot more of your life back.
I am a firm believer that:I’m a firm believer that:
1) oiling mint Paulsons isn’t necessary (it does seem to bring out the colors of new CPC chips and recently washed used Paulsons, though), and
2) the oil & water method is the best method considering the amount of time it saves
After cleaning chips they certainly need oiled…my red lead Paulsons just looked almost white after being washed etc the soap and water dries them out so much.I’m a firm believer that:

An oiled hand grasping a cylinder? Sounds like that particular skill might have multiple applications.I go even lazier. I go back and spot check the barrels for excess oil, but out of 5000 chips or so done this way think just a few barrels needed clean up.

I think the label needs to be corrected. After 4 years and over 100,000 chips oiled, it is finally time for a new bottle.

Way to much oilWow! I went through a bottle under 10k. I wonder if I’m using to much???
I fucking love those
Those 100s are hot!
With CC I have both washed and oiled and oiled without washing. I have noticed no difference with the end result. The ones I washed first, I allowed to dry completely before oiling.Bought some CC Majestics.. After wiping them with a damp cloth, 1) do I need to let them dry completely before oiling? 2) There is still a little bit "cloudyness" on some of the chips in certain areas of the face of the chip, will that be wiped away with the oiling?

Some have had success with the "oil-and-water dunk", so I suspect that they don't need to be dry, but unless you are under some time deadline, why risk it?
I cant say as I haven't tried that method, but I assume a temperature that is "comfortable" for hand mixing.how warm?
