Wow those are awesome chips. Little out of my price range. Was really hoping to be around 1 or 2 dollars pr chip. Like my original post says. I'm new so I wasn't really sure what to expect as far as price goes. Crazy to me that folks pay that kinda money for chips. Really appreciate the response.
Tigers are out of a lot of people’s price ranges. You’ll be shocked at how much your price range will change the more time you spend on here. lol
Having said that, you can order a full custom set of hybrids from
@justincarothers on his next group but for significantly less than your budget. I ordered a few sets that will be here any day with custom inlays I designed for around $.50/chip. They aren’t real clay and they take a few months to arrive, but if you want custom chips on a budget, you can’t beat it.
Before I could even get those sets ordered, I’d “enhanced” my budget after educating myself on here. I definitely recommend ordering samples of anything you can get your hands on. Definitely order some samples from Justin. See how they feel. Then get a shuffle stack of Paulsons and/or
CPC samples and note the differences. Nothing beats real clay. You can find some steals on here for real clay casino used Paulsons, especially if you go the
RHC route. When we play cash (which is most frequently) we usually play with a set of
RHC Detroit Jacks at my game. You can find super deals all over the forum. I’m almost positive
@Hotus777 still has a nice leaded cash set that is very budget friendly! He sold me my first set of Casablancas and is super easy to work with.
And in between the chips described and the Tiger Palace sets is an infinite number of possibilities. Right now I’m working on an overlay project with
@GreatWhiteDope with a mix of several different sets of
THC mold Paulsons. When we are done, they will be a complete set of roughly 1,200 chips with custom labels from Gear on some of our favorite chips for around 50-60% of the premium Tiger Palace sets.
My point is simply that you can spend a few hundred, a few thousand or several thousand and they all have the same function. Some hold their value, some tank (the low end chips) and others actually increase over time. No guarantees, but historically…. So, read tons, ask questions, order samples and see what you like. There’s certainly more than one way to chipping!
Here’s some pics for giggles
The set on the far left are around $3-5/chip
THC Casablancas. The middle set is custom ceramics from BR Pro. Dirt cheap and fast delivery at around $1/chip. The far right are the
RHC Detroit Jacks that are in the $2.50-5 range for Mint, considerably cheaper for well used. And finally a mock up of the set we are working on that will come in at an average of around $7.50/chip, but that’s largely due to the rack of $100s being $20/chip. Drags the average way up. Threw in a pick just for good measure. Like most things, rarity will drive up the price considerably. Apologies for rambling, happy hunting and welcome!
