I have some questions as a new member.
I want to upgrade my home poker games. We usually use those Walmart chip sets. So I've been doing research and I see the difference between a middle of the line poker chip and a cheap one, however I still am yet to see the difference between the really high end poker chips and for example a middle of the line like outlaw poker chip set

What do you consider middle of the line?

I would consider an Indiana Grand on the higher side of middle of the line, and lets say a blaze chicken 5 high end, they are considered high end for a different reason than say a Carson City Nugget, or a Custom CPC chip would be considered high end for a different reason, also there are some high end plastics.

I give you information, and from afar, you can quantify a purchase, but I can't give you the experience of touch, or the exact color, or the feel, the sound, or the smell; this is what the journey is about. Making an informed decision will require you to jump in and discover your questions for yourself.

For me, I didn't have the luxury of picking and choosing based on the price, and I was compelled to have those chips!

Sure you want the analytical answers:

Chickens are a new Paulson chip in the best color available on the best mold available
IG are a solid Paulson chip with a favorite insert on a decent mold in a Vegas standard
Carson City Nuggets weigh more than your mom, are a CIC in CLAY! and can stack higher than Empire state building
CPC are designed to 100% what I want
Matsui plastics on 43m feel great, sound wonderful, have some heft and are bright

Happy Chipping!

It's all about preference. The truth is if we didn't have some sick obsession about poker chips, cheques, gaming tokens, dealer buttons, card stiffness/texture, etc etc, we wouldn't all be here feeding the addiction. I joined to expand my classics set and since then have peiced together 12 other sets. Not super expensive, but she doesn't know how much its all worth if you catch my drift.

Get your hands on some samples and experience the difference. Hopefully you can get to a home game that has paulsons and cpc sets so you can stack em high for yourself. Good luck and happy hunting.

Rarity, lead/unleaded, base colors, edgespot colors, mold type, potentially the inlay design, feel, sound…all factor in. You may weigh some factors more heavily than others which is where the individual preferences come in.

Welcome to PCF, tons of great info about home poker games here! Your going to go broke sooner or later on this forum, not trying to scare you away. Just stating facts, ha ha!!!

Well if you ever want to come to Grand Island, I host a monthly game. I have about every kind of chip you would ever want to see. HMU
