Hello all. Been lurking for a couple days now. Photo is all the chips currently owned.

Reason for the new account is to ask a question.
Looking to buy a poker chip set for home play with up to 10 players.
Can afford up to $1.50/chip and have easy access to Atlantic City if that is a good route.
Eyeballing the Dia de los Muertos chips by BRpro currently.

What would you guys buy for your first set?

Hello and welcome!

You have more than enough for fully custom high quality ceramics from BR Pro or SunFly. You are also within striking distance of stock clay CPC, so don't rule that out.

You may get lucky and pull a decent set of used RHC Paulsons from TheChipRoom's upcoming Black Friday sale.

There are often many different types of sets for sale from other members in the Classifieds that fit within your budget.

My advice to you is to evaluate samples when you can, and know the exact breakdown for what you need to play the game/stakes you play.

Also - you may want to check the reference page for a quick scan of recommended breakdowns, when ordering chips having a pre organized breakdown by denomination really helps things go smoothly on your first buy

Welcome! That's a decent budget. Get samples. Enough to shuffle if you like the looks.

Second this. $1.50 a chip is a good budget and gets you many options. Buy samples from Apache, BR Pro, maybe CPC. Try and find a sample set of cards mold / Tinas from the classifieds here and see what you like the best. Keep in mind going fully custom may have hidden costs and increased time to ship.

What I ended up doing was making a cheaper set by stalking the classifieds to hold over while I make a custom CPC set. The custom CPC set I made averages out to about $3 a chip though.
