New member here! I've been on here for just over a month (officially), so I figured I'd make a post to introduce myself.

I'm sure my story for getting here is similar to most people on this forum, but here goes nothing...

I'm in Utah, the best state to live in for gambling! :wtf:... After finishing our basement, we needed to purchase a dining room table, so I of course thought, wouldn't it be sick to have a dining table that doubles as a poker table?! This would solve my desire for a poker table AND my lack of storage for a stand-alone table! After going down the rabbit hole of endless poker tables, I realized my needs were pretty unique, so I started looking for custom options. Somewhat surprisingly, I found someone locally here in Utah who specializes in building custom poker tables with dining table toppers. It was a pretty expensive option, but it fit my exact needs, so I bit the bullet and had one custom-made (attached are the pictures of said table).

Once I had ordered the custom table, the next obvious question was what chips to order, not knowing the rabbit hole I had just journeyed down  . I had just spent a large chunk of cash on a custom table, so I naively figured I would just get the best chips out there, you know, the ones the casinos use. I was surprised to find that the company making most of the chips for casinos doesn't sell to the public (Paulson). Digging in to what my alternative options were is what led me to this forum. I had ZERO idea how much information, misinformation, and options were out there, and this forum has been a godsend for figuring it all out.

Now I have a custom order of Greek mold hybrids on the way (thanks @justincarothers), and I'm super stoked about them!

I wish I could say that was the end of my poker chip story, but as most on here know, once you dip your toes in, the poker chip fever (now PCF has a dual meaning  :ROFLMAO:) takes control. So I'm sure there are more sets to come haha.

Hello and welcome!

What an intro. A solid table is the right place to start.

Look into getting some nice comfy chairs to go with that. Browse local Craigslist and you might find some Gassers. They don't look like much so get some chair covers for them for polite company.

Funny you should say that, I spent a ton of time researching chairs and I quickly learned about Gassers, and subsequently how uncommon they are in my area haha. I tested a bunch of chairs out, but ultimately ended up liking a chair from IKEA the best, so I just went for it. Aesthetics also mean something to the wife haha.
