The spotted Bird is more rare. It was only in circulation for one year (2010) and was replaced in 2011 with the solid blue chips. Previous to the Spotted Bird was the spotted no bird which was in circulation from 2004 though 2010.

Thanks for the insight @David O - there was a regular saying he's played with someone that has racks of the spotted chips (I assume you haha).

I've got a couple spotted birds so I'm happy to have found them :)

Vegas Pro tip: When I go gambling, I always ask for a complimentary pack of smokes. I don't smoke, but now I've always got one for someone else. Worst case you give it to some homeless person on the street.

Friday - Arrived at the Flamingo in the afternoon and went straight to the poker room. Played some limit with @CremeFriache for a couple hours until our other buddies showed up. Got some In N Out for dinner and then went to the Orleans to play their Friday 7pm $15k Guaranteed tournament. After registration was done, there was about 200 entrants. I didn't take note of any poker hands for this tourney - was too busy drinking and having fun :) Around midnight I was the chip leader for my table with some straight up luck (very little skill lol), but I proceeded to donk off 80% of my chips in an attempt to make a hero call. I know I should have not called but oh well. Was able to stay in the tournament for another hour or so - busted ~37, money was 24. Went back to the Flamingo to play some 3-6 limit with my buddies and went to bed shortly after.

Saturday - Lunch time rolled around and we decided to go try Eggslut at the Cosmo. Try is the key word because there was a 50+ person line and we were starving. We decided to just get whatever at the Block 16 food court right across the hall. After eating we walked through some of the surrounding casinos, got some souvenir poker chips and saw the Aria Shopping Center and Poker Room. My group decided we had done enough exploring for the afternoon and wanted to go back to the Flamingo to play limit to have a good time and chat with the locals. We had a blast playing limit that I don't even care that I lost a couple hundred bucks in the process. It was fun chatting with the table, trying to hunt the spotted $1 Flamingo chips and the craziness of chasing until the river. After some fun-filled hours we were hungry again and walked our way over to Ellis Island - a nice little 10 minute walk. Immediately I went towards the players' card desk which gave us the discounted Steak Special meal for $9.99. Nothing was special about the steak and I thought it was an good meal for the value compared to Vegas strip prices. Their homemade ranch and Caesar salad had me filled with delight! After dinner we messed around at the table games for a bit and then walked back to our lovely Flamingo to play some good ol' limit. Once we were there for an hour or two, the locals were starting to go home and a couple of us decided to play the 9pm $65 tourney. This tourney was more to have fun and not be all serious because at the 1 hour point it was just a shove-fest. I knew what I signed up for and almost made the money but I busted 6/20 with a cash for the top 4. Our group decided they were still hungry after the Steak Special and got a pizza inside the hotel. One of my friends and I decided to go play the Midnight tourney because of the fun we had doing the 9pm. I did not have fun playing this session and proceeded to donk off 2 entries - oopsies!

Sunday - After a long day, we barely got out of our beds and slowly got rolling. We decided for lunch we would get Shake Shack and instead of walking all the way to NYNY, we got an Uber. With the 4 of us, after tip, it was only a couple bucks - #worth. I had already ate here before while in LA, but damn did I miss those burgers and shakes. After eating we had plans to stop by Taco Bell Cantina because I wanted to grab a shirt for the girlfriend and then we were going to go to TopGolf. However, due to some limited time for our buddies who drove to Vegas from Phoenix, they decided they would rather go play more limit (the addiction was real). Once at the tables, the 3 of them were at a different table so I was at a table by myself with this really nice local named Stacy that would trade me Spotted Flamingo chips. When I initially met him on Friday I offered him 2 regular chips for 1 spotted - this was a bad precedent because he always kept me to my word. It was funny and I didn't mind making the donation. Some other people would have one and I would offer to trade and Stacy would jump in saying "You know the going rate is 2 to 1?" The players holding the spotteds would be so confused about what was so special about the chips but they didn't care and were fine just doing a clean trade. While playing I got to talking with this guy named Bill from Toronto. I had a blast talking to him and I mentioned how last year I went to Toronto and Niagara Falls for a friends wedding. After a while I moved tables to talk with my buddies for a bit before they started their drive back to Phoenix. @CremeFriache and I said our goodbyes and went back to the hotel room to lay down and relax for a bit before we decided what to do. After some indecisiveness we walked on over to Caesar's Palace to see the casino. The poker room and sports book area was amazing! I don't watch sports very much but I wouldn't mind sitting in those theater-type chairs to watch the giant big screens. Next we went towards Paris and Planet Hollywood to explore more of the casinos we had not stepped in yet. I had previously read that the poker tables at PH were in the open but it was still surprising to see them only feet away from the pit. Hunger was starting to roll in and we hit up Earl of Sandwich in PH - mmmm tasty and probably one of the better sandwiches I have had. After filling up our stomachs we finally decided to play some 1-2 NL since our other novice friends had finally left. Our table however was a total snooze fest with only 1 tourist giving any action that I would try to respond with. It wasn't fun and 4-5 players were just on their phone/ipad the whole time. We had noticed a player had been there for at least 4+ hours and after sitting there for a couple hours we only saw him play 1-2 hands. The energy and excitement wasn't there and I wanted out. I understand the rationale behind what the players were doing but at the same time I was in Vegas to have fun, making money was secondary. My friend and I got a table change to limit to play with my recently acquired friend Bill from Toronto. However, this slowly turned into a downward spiral due to how wasted he was and it slowing down the game. People were getting mad at him for being loud and obnoxious (and so was I). It was fun for a bit but I started to get annoyed and decided I was done playing limit and went to go play the midnight $65 tourney. The tourney only had 10 entries and one of the guys at the table was extremely aggressive and this shark tattoo on his hand. One of the players made a comment about his tattoo and if he had the tattoo because he was a shark in poker. The conversation was so stupid but "Jaws" didn't mind and proceeded to give everyone else nick-names based on their doppelganger - Chris Pratt, Marc Anthony, Aquaman. The tournament was so weird with the table banter and Jaws falling asleep while getting a massage from one of the girls. Ended up chopping it with him at the end of the night. I was finally happy to win some money on the trip!

Monday - The last day had finally arrived and we decided we would hit up downtown before we left because we didn't get a chance to see it. We got an Uber and went to check out Spinettis Gaming. It was an overload looking at all the poker chips and misc. things in the shop. @CremeFriache decided to buy an older Flamingo chip since we stayed at the hotel. After looking around we walked our way over to the Golden Nugget to play some of the table games and dabble with the 2-4 limit. We had a blast talking with our table and played for around an hour or two before deciding to go get some food at Nacho Daddy down the street. The portions for lunch were massive - I barely finished my burrito and the BBQ nachos Creme ordered barely got touched. Slowly we made our way down Fremont and hit up every casino to get some souvenir chips. A couple times I got rejected because the dealer/cage would say they couldn't sell me a chip. It was weird because I was so used to the Strip Casinos saying "Sure, no problem!" but maybe it's just a Downtown thing. We were getting bored again and decided to go back to the Nugget and play some 1-2 NL. Bought in for $200 and was slowly losing my stack because I had a limit-style mindset of trying to chase. I was down to about $100 when I woke up in EP with AJhh raised pre and flopped the nut flush. After some betting on the flop and turn, it ended up going to the river where the BB went all in and I called and crushed his King high flush. (Memory still unclear about this hand lol). Later I would wake up with pocket nines, improve to a set on the flop and stack an over pair. This new player sat down and ended up "donating" around $100 trying to bluff preflop with 72o. Before leaving for our plane ride back I woke up with AA and was able to get some more money to cover my investments into 2-4/3-6 limit haha. Ended up at $700 in the matter of 2 hours! We got an Uber to the airport and it being a Monday night there was literally nobody in security. We got through in 5 minutes, got some food and I watched Creme donk off for the last time on some slots.

Overall I enjoyed my first trip to Vegas and can't wait to go back!

Very glad you enjoyed your trip! I suspect it won't be the last. Vegas is just sooooo much better than any other casino.

You ran deep in multiple tourneys. I call that a win. Sure, the money isn't as good, but there is something to be said for hours of fun for $100 or less. That collection of spotted Flamingo chips is impressive! Oddly, I really like the Giant inlay unspotted chip the best.

I had to pull up my maps to see, because I didn't realize that Spinetti's was actually walking distance from Fremont. I've been to both, but always had a car. I just didn't put A and B together.

I could go on and on, but I shouldn't. I haven't been to Vegas since 2017. I won't get to go in 2019. This will be the longest gap in Vegas vacations for me since 2005, and it is killing me. Living vicariously through trip reports is my only comfort.
