Hi everybody!

I've heard a lot about this forum, I posted a lot of r/poker under various usernames and occasionally over at Two + Two. Actually ran into a member when I joined his home game about 3-4 months ago, which has been great!

Just moved out to New Haven in the last year, my wife got into grad school out here at Yale, and I've been enjoying mixing it up with the graduate students and even some undergrads in home games in the area, as well as treking out to Mohegan Sun occasionally. We do miss our native Minnesota, though.

I already have a budding collection of Kem decks, and I'm looking to upgrade the home game that I have become a de facto co-runner for, as we play with dice chips and speed felt with my Kem cards a few times a month. Looking to grab a 500-chip set of mid-tier chips in the near future, as well as things to add to the ambiance/narrative of the game and prop games/bets. Currently working as a psych RN after becoming a relucant pro for 2-3 years while I put myself and wife through nursing school back in Minnesota.

Hope to integreate well into this awesome existing community!

Welcome to PCF. If you see any J Press deals in the largest sizes, let me know!

Welcome to PCF! My daughter lives in East Haven and works at Yale. We will be making a trip up there in mid-June and I'm planning to make the trip up to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods.

Welcome! I enjoy the New Haven area and have fond memories of Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods.

Welcome to another CT chipper!
Thank you! As somebody who is still new-ish to the state, anything with the state and poker that I should know? I was rewatching the 2003 WSOP ME, and one of the guys was from New Haven and apparently played in back room games in the area, but it's harder to make connections in poker out here versus back home so far!

I'll be moving to New Haven in a bit under a month and into my house in mid-July. I'll definitely be looking to get back to degenerate idiocy after an extended hiatus (yay for early retirement!). Hosted a game here in MS for more than a decade, so happy to do that again once established. I have some basics covered (barrington, rhc Roadhouse set, roulette mold set, piles of china clays, plenty of cards). Ultimately, probably should do a chair upgrade and/or a @rjdev7 table topper. Or, happy to let someone else host and let them put everything away the next day!

Welcome! Also in CT and am always looking for more home games to attend or players for the game I host.

That's wonderful, we definitely need some more options in this city! I'm not sure if you'd want to play with a bunch of college kids, but if you do...

If you want to play with some college kids (mostly grad students), this could be an option potentially for you!

Ironically enough, I'm in the process of retiring from a job where I had to deal with LOTS of college kids (prof), and my kid is in grad school. So, being around whippersnappers is old hat. My game used to have a roughly 50/50 split between college and grad school guys (too young to have kids) and old timers (whose kids could take care of themselves).

I’m a degen and like to drink so I might fit in. Lol

Perfect! Our game has wound down for the summer, but we'll make an effort to stay in touch on here, no?
